1978, remodeled, meticulously, immaculate, single story San Diego house, with comfortable outdoor living spaces for relaxation. It is less than 5 mins. drive from three highways and 10 mins. walk from local public transportation. It is approximately 20 mins. (13 mi./20.9 km.) from SDSU, downtown San Diego and beaches. There are a plethora of local shopping, restaurants, golf gyms, etc. within 10 mins.

THE ROOM
The 10x11ft (3.05x3.35m) room has a wardrobe, a futon chair that converts into a plush single bed and an ottoman that converts into a twin bed. A convertible wall table for studying, a coffee pot, microwave and small refrigerator may also be available upon request. The flooring is vinyl wood design. The rest of the flooring in the house is also allergy friendly, laminate, ceramic and polished concrete; however, we do own a cat, Emma.

YOUR HOSTS
My husband and I are empty-nesters. He is a 30 year retired Navy Master Chief and I am a Navy veteran. He currently works for government family services. After 11 years of service, I worked in private schools as a Registrar and Academic Counselor. I owned a Domestic & Commercial maintenance business, managed sales as an independent consultant with Thirty-One merchandise, worked for military non-profit NVTSI, transitioning military service personnel to civilian life. After a part time position as junior high Academic Counselor, I am involve with ministry, wellness, home design and home boarding related hosting.

We are rarely free of hosting, whether for military or friends in transition, interns for our church or international students. I have recently transformed the front outdoor living space to drought tolerant and sustainable lifestyle plant life which guests have enjoyed. It includes a sidewalk garden, open to neighbors and guests, alike. Because of San Diego's renown weather, our backyard living space has outdoor furnishings and fire pits for relaxation, day or night.

Away from home, we have been to Dominican Republic to partner with missions. I have also gone to Nicaragua for mission work. Non-mission or military/work related travel abroad have included Japan, Australia, UK and Ethiopia. Our next trip will be New Zealand for our 40th wedding anniversary.

Our routine activities, outside of work, include mentoring, church administration, theater and wellness. My husband swims, does Bikram Yoga and strengthening. I tap, jazz and Hawaiin hula dance, Cardio Hip Hop, lead yoga stretch, Bikram yoga, spinning, hiking, gardening and strengthening. We manage a Marriage Ministry and serve in other capacities, in our church and community, meeting with individuals or groups outside and inside our home. We have a weekly and monthly Bible studies in our home.

We have held membership seats at the Old Globe Theater and love to invite guests. The Old Globe is located in Balboa Park, my favorite place in San Diego, about 20 minutes north of our home, next to the famous San Diego Zoo. We eat out often. I love variety, trying out new places. We enjoy opportunities to dance and dine. My husband has the best jazz and has a routine on Saturday mornings that includes the sway of sultry music flowing through our home.

We are considered healthy and have diverse appreciation for a variety of food. However, you will always find coffee, popcorn, crunchy peanut butter, jam, fruit, commercial Kombucha, crunchy almond butter, celery and American breakfast items in our kitchen. You will likely find fresh or frozen salmon, beef, chicken and shrimp.

Those who visit our home say that it is peaceful, immaculate and "living".

About the Area

The area is quiet, full of families and a variety of housing and schools, both north and south. It is close to golf courses, equestrian and walking trails and camping to the south. A variety of shopping options surround the area. It is near a dam. The nearest public transportation is a bus line which connects to the trolley station. Beaches are within 20 minutes west, by car. Mission Trails hiking an parks at within 15-20 minutes east, by car.

STUDENTS
We highly recommend that all guests have their own vehicle. However, public transportation is available by a ten minute walk to the bus stop which can transfer to a trolley and other connections. San Diego State University is accessible this way, as are language and other schools, located in downtown and other parts of the city.

VACATIONERS
Bonita and Sweetwater Golf courses are the closest to our home. People often walk or run around the course. Many activities and picnics take place at the parks adjacent to the golf course. Bonita Bikram Yoga, Hans & Harry's ( a pastry shop ) are two of our favorite stops, located on Bonita Rd., along with an extensive variety of restaurants, including ethnic cuisines. The two malls near our home are Plaza Bonita and Otay Ranch Town Centre. The latter has a weekly farmers' market, each Tuesday afternoon. Another popular farmers' market is in Little Italy, in downtown San Diego. It is every Saturday. Little Italy also has many restaurants and shops.

As our guests, we can treat you to free movies on a couple of Naval bases. The gyms are only $3 for our guests. The North Island Breakers Beach is off the pacific and has fire rings, volley ball and cabanas. Adjacent to Breakers is Coronado Beach, in the island city of Coronado.

Pamela was very understanding of last minute changes. Pamela was super about my brother needed a place to stay at last minute and making accommodation for him. She and her husband, Keith were very easy to talk with. The home was very comfortable. I would stay there again
