I'm still working full time, from home in our den, as a telephone triage RN in the evening. Husband is retired. We own a 3 bedroom home and our children are now adults. You would have your own furnished bedroom on the opposite side of the house from our bedroom. You would also have your own bathroom. We have plenty of space to spread out and you would have kitchen privileges. You would have a place to park a car off the street. Our home has a living room, family room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, and a lovely, whimsical porch with an adjacent deck. We have flower gardens and pots with flowers, along with a native plant garden. We live on the Westside of Madison, WI, a city with lots of entertainment and activities. I am heavily involved with community theater. We have two grandchildren that may visit from time to time. We speak English, but know a tiny bit of Spanish. We have all this space and thought it might be nice to help out a traveling nurse with a furnitured place to live during their assignment.

About the Area
Our home is in a quiet, near Westside neighborhood with a bus stop across the street. We are 10 minutes from the University of WI Hospital and Clinics and the VA Hospital. We are 15-20 minutes from St. Mary's Hospital and Meriter Hospital. We are less than 20 minutes from Madison's vibrant Downtown, unless you are traveling on a Friday night through Campus, which might increase your drive time by 10 minutes. We are a University town with lots of opportunities to attend UW football, hockey, volleyball, and basketball games at the Kohl's Center or the Stadium. Madison has a vibrant Downtown with a Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings around the Capitol Square, an Art Fair on the Square, and a Taste of Madison events during the Summer. There are multiple venues for theater, concerts, and other Arts, including the Overture Center on State Street (with many shops and restaurants on the State Street Mall). We are about a mile from WestTowne Mall. Madison has many parks and bike trails and has a free Vilas Zoo, which also has a beach. The Dane County Airport is on the Northside of town, about 20-30 minutes away. There are beautiful hiking trails in and around Madison, including the Devil's Lake area. We also have downhill ski resorts within an hour of Madison. Madison enjoys four distinct seasons. Many people that attend the University of WI end up staying here due to the engaging environment and excellent schools, thus making it a great place to raise children.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Guests can pay by Paypal in advance, cash upon arrival, or another agreed upon method in advance of arrival. There is no penalty for cancellation 24 hours prior to arrival. If guest cancels within 24 hours or is a no-show, the cost is half of the agreed upon price.
This is a no-smoking-in-the-house home. We have a small patio next to the garage where we would allow smoking, but you must be sure to extinguish your cigarette completely and clean up the area after smoking. Non-prescribed drugs are not allowed. Alcohol use should be minimal because I work from home and need to maintain a quiet environment.
Our home is pet friendly. We have a Golden Retriever, who is very friendly, and two cats, who can be finicky.
If you use the kitchen for meal prep and eating, we expect you to clean up after yourself. We do not expect you to clean up after us.
We have a housekeeper who cleans every other Friday. However, if you have any significant mess that you need to clean, we have an in-home vacuum and other supplies available. Let us know in advance if you do not want our housekeeper to clean your bedroom.
We have a short blacktopped area perpendicular to our driveway where you can park your car. You can also park on the street. Please do not park in our driveway, blocking our exit from the garage.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
