About the Homestay

We are a friendly welcoming family of five. Husband Carl is a school and language teacher and Wife Andrea is a housewife. Three children Max (7), Grace (5) and Oscar (2). We also have a friendly cat. We live in a very large historical house on the edge of a friendly and safe village in Nottinghamshire. Our house is 200 years old and is a former rectory. It is very spacious with beautiful grounds. The host bedrooms are I a private wing of the house, both with a private bathroom. There is a train station 15 minutes away with trains to Nottingham and Newark and a 90 minute fast train to London St Pancras. There are buses from our village to Nottingham city centre. We have large gardens and there is plenty to explore nearby on bike as there are many traditional English villages in close proximity. We are able to provide hosting services, teaching courses and sight seeing opportunities within Nottingham or any other town or city of your choice. We have previously lived in London. We are well travelled and enjoy meeting people from other cultures and countries and look forward to hearing from you!

About the Area
We live in a quiet semi-rural part of Nottingham. Our village is a friendly traditional village which offers lots of activities and entertainment for residents and visitors. There is a Train station 2 mins away by car and a bus stop to Nottingham City centre 3 mins away. 20 minutes journey into town. East Midlands There is an high speed train to London St Pancras of 90 minutes at our nearest train station. Airport is approx 30 mins away by car or taxi. My husband travels to and back from the Nottingham city area on weekdays so it may be possible to arrange some transport. There are so many beautiful and historic places to visit nearby such as Sherwood Forest, home of the legend of Robin Hood, Stately homes, Go Ape, Paint balling venues and Marley towns. There is a leisure centre in the area with a pool and good selection of sports. Horse riding is very easy to access as there are many riding schools in the area.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
