I am an American who has been living in Spain for a bit over 4 years. I am very active and almost always outside at the beach, doing yoga, sports, or hiking when I am not working, or I am out with my friends.
I am renting my double loft bedroom in my 2 bedroom apartment. Please be aware there is no window. The room has 2 fans but no AC. It is also a loft bed so you need to climb a ladder to get into bed. The room has a sofa/bed, a desk, and a big closet you can use.
Check in can be done between 11am-11pm (although the bed may not be ready at 11am if I have guests the prior night - but you can pick up the keys). So, also check-out will be 11am so I can be ready for the next guests.
If you have to to check in/out outside of these hours please let me know before you book.
I do have 2 cats, so if you are allergic to cats this may not be the place for you. They are very friendly and love attention but if you don't want them around you are welcome to shut your door and they will stay out.
I'm a very clean person so I hope my guests will be the same. Please keep common areas clean. You are welcome to use the kitchen and all common areas including the balcony, but be courtious during late night hours if I am sleeping.
I am there if you want recommendations or help. I even have a paddle board I am willing to let my guests use if they are responsible with it :)
We are in my opinion, in the best part of Barcelona. We are a 2 minute walk from the famous Barceloneta beach and a 5 minute walk from Barceloneta metro station.
We are located in the center of Barceloneta plaza where you'll find many bars, restaurants, markets, and cafes. We are walking distance from Born, the well known area for bars, shops, and restaurants.

House Rules
Quiet hours are from 1130-8. Please do not hang out in the common areas (especially with the lights on) during those times. If you come home late that’s no problem but please go to your room. The light shines into my room and wakes me up and stresses out my cat who won’t stop meowing if people are out there talking.
Do not leave garbage in the bathroom or common areas. I like a clean apartment and expect our guests to clean up after themselves.
No parties. Other day time guests can be allowed just make sure to check with me first as I work from home in the afternoons.
Take your shoes off by the door please.

We had a lovely stay at Brittany, best location, the flat is small but very cosy, and we fell in love with cats too. Brittany also had me staying an extra night when I realised at the the airport my flight was only next, which was so helpful! Thank you

Hello! I wish you had brought these issues up with me as neither are true!
There is a gray fan in the room that also has a heating option to make sure the room is not too cold. I also have an extra comforter (and pillows) in the closet (and even more blankets in the white shelf if needed).
Also, I have no issue if guests close the balcony door when they are in that part of the apartment, I just kept it open because the weather has been nice the past few weeks. If you had spoken to me this could have been easily solved.If you stay at Homestay again I recommend you bring any issues up with your host to avoid unnecessary bad reviews :) Hope you enjoyed Barcelona regardless!

My stay with Brittany was fantastic! The apartment may be small, but it has plenty of space for everything you need and is well-equipped. The location is perfect—just a 3-minute walk to the metro and 2 minutes to the beach. There are shops right around the corner, as well as plenty of bars and restaurants.
The highlight of my stay was Brittany and her two adorable cats. They are simply wonderful!
Overall, the apartment is very clean and tidy. I highly recommend staying here!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
