Welcome to my home withBnB, just steps from a Wellington Harbour beach and on the direct route of the Airport Flyer bus. Just down the road from the Petone railway station, with 12 minutes access south to Wellington City center and ferries to Picton on South Island, or bus/train to the Wairarapa Vineyards 70 minutes north. There are several other reviews on my AirBnB listing. Prices here revert to Summer rates in November - Add $10 per night. Add further $5 fortnight of 23Dec - 2Jan 2020
My character "villa-ette" is a historic Victorian first settler, boutique styled high-stud semi called "Lalapanzi - place of rest". There is a cute rose garden out front, and a secluded back courtyard to catch the afternoon sun.
The guest room has two very comfortable and large single beds with electric blankets, and a dressing/work table with chair or padded stool. The same room becomes the double room, with the very heavy beds creating a super king bed with king linen and underlay. You can borrow books, play my piano or relax in chairs, and enjoy the lovely double bay window. There is fast broadband access and free wifi, carpeting, and side tables with reading lamps.
Includes a help-yourself uncooked but full breakfast . The living room (photo) with TV and couch and dining table is for your personal use - I use a separate workroom. There is a distance to the toilet beyond the kitchen.
Enjoy this welcoming, very historical Wellington central accommodation, a few steps away from the Settlers' Museum on the Esplanade beach, and just seconds to the popular Jackson St (the Devonport of the South !) - a location for the wine and dine crowd, pubs, coffee aficionados, boutique and craft or Op Shoppers, as well as the local 5 - screen Lighthouse/Boutique Cinema, and historical Stansborough Weavers - makers of Tolkien film garments.
Hutt River Valley leads to the hinterland with walk and cycle tracks, visits to Tolkien film sites , where river or sea fishing is popular, and swimmers of all preferences are catered for, including indoor pools. Lower Hutt boasts the Queensgate Mall. Bus and train stops are in Jackson St to access Wellington city, Hutt Valley or the Wairarapa vineyard playground.

Elaine went further and beyond my expectations, nothing was too much trouble. I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Elaine for a week and I found her very interesting. The room was a good size, it was quiet, dark and the bed was extremely comfortable. I found the location very convenient and I will definitely be staying again.

My daughter and I absolutely loved our stay. Elaine greeted us with such a warm smile and an openness, we felt so welcomed and home right away.
Our room was big, the beds very comfortable, a warm shower, a good breakfast to start the day, a beautiful house and a very nice surrounding area - what more can anyone ask for?
Thank you so much Elaine for sharing your house and the interesting conversations held while having breakfast with you.
I can say as much as this: "we came as strangers and left as friends."
Hope to see you one of these days again. All the best to you.

I cannot speak highly enough about Elaine Winchester. She made us feel so welcome during our stay. what a wonderful, intelligent and interesting lady she is to conversate with. I would not hesitate to stay with Elaine again or recommend others to also stay. It felt like home away from home. Absolutely fabulous. Thank you so very much for being an awesome and fun host!!!!
