Louise from Scotland was planning to visit Italy for the first time with her family and decided to stay in a Homestay. She chose to stay with Fulvia in the beautiful lakeside town of Bracciano for 5 nights.
Louise and her family
"We had a lovely holiday in Bracciano. Fulvia and her husband were the perfect hosts. We were a little nervous about how little Italian we could speak but Fulvia made every effort to communicate with us. The house was very suitable for our family of six plus granny. As it was our first time travelling abroad with our children we had lots of questions regarding transport and things to do in the area. Fulvia was always very helpful and even organised train tickets for a day trip to Rome. We were made very welcome but felt we could also get on with our own plans. Fulvia included some nice touches in our holiday including home made wine, berries to taste and an invitation to eat pizza with her family on the final evening. We would love to return sometime."

Fulvia's homestay
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our host and family in Bracciano, Italy. We travelled with our 4 children and Granny. The homestay website was very informative and I enjoyed reading blogs before choosing our holiday. Our homestay accommodation was good value for money and we especially enjoyed the homely feel to our holiday.
Swimming in the Lake
We visited Bracciano which has a magnificent castle and fantastic lakeside fun. another town called Anguillara Sabazia which has beautiful walks along the promenade and and the beautiful Trevignano Romano with amazing restaurants along the lake and the best gelato. We also went to Rome for a day trip and then the Italian Aviation museum in Bracciano.
There are so many stand out memories but one of our favourites was Trevignano Romano for the food, lakeside fun and beauty. There is also a Waterworld suitable for the whole family, although granny chose to sunbathe! We found the lifeguards to be very helpful. The coffee and gelato were a welcome addition to being on the lake!!
Fantastic food in Trevignano Romano
Our experience was very different to home. The temperature for a start, the pace of life (even though we live on a small island), the food was delicious and the pizza was the best we'd ever eaten. The language was lovely to listen to and our Italian is a little better than it was and we are keen to learn more after our time in Italy.
