My apartment is located on the main and busiest street in Santa Teresa, a ten-minute walk from Largo dos Guimarães, where the neighborhood's trendiest restaurants and bars are located. The street is residential and quiet, and the apartment is well lit, airy and quiet. Additionally, it offers two outdoor areas to enjoy breakfast, take a bath in an outdoor shower or simply enjoy the stars.
The available room is the back room, which receives sunlight in the morning. It is equipped with a double bed with orthopedic mattress, air conditioning, ceiling fan, clothes rack and an armchair. Its doors communicate with the outside area of the backyard.
A resident of Santa Teresa for over two decades, I work in film production and love meeting people. I am very curious about different cultures and I love sharing about the cultural richness of Rio de Janeiro. I'm interested in art and culture, especially alternative films, Brazilian popular music and art exhibitions.

About the Area
Santa Teresa is located on a hill close to Lapa and Glória. The neighborhood had its origins in the 18th century, around the Convento das Carmelitas (or Convento de Santa Teresa), one of the city's first expansions.
Due to its elevated location and proximity to the Tijuca Forest, it became, at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, one of the most desired addresses for high-income families in the city, who sought tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the then Capital. Federal and a milder climate. Thus, French-style mansions of the time appeared.
More than a century later, Santa Teresa still preserves many of these historic buildings, but nowadays it is a meeting point for poets, musicians and artists, transforming the neighborhood into a symbol of culture and art.
Around the building where the apartment is located, there is a small commercial area with a bakery, two restaurants and two bars. However, just a ten-minute walk away takes you to Largo dos Guimarães, where the busiest restaurants and bars in the neighborhood are located.

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
