Hello and well done! You found us! Welcome to the fabulous Surfers Paradise Happy House on the breathtaking Nerang River. We have fabulous water views from the deck, a small private sandy beach and a jetty for fishing or crabbing.
On the west wing of the Happy House, are rooms for your enjoyment with a private entrance and seating. Plus a private kitchenette with crockery, cutlery and cooking pots to use. There is a choice of private double rooms (for singles or couples) or our cute Koala room with its comfortable single bed. Separate shower, separate toilet, air con in communal areas, private laundry. Private garden seating.
On the east wing of the Happy House, you will find our beautiful salt water pool and jacuzzi, surrounded by pretty tropical gardens. This is the pathway to the river and all its beauty, with visiting swans and ducks and sometimes dolphins swim past. It's a great place for yoga, snacks, coffee or a beverage while you watch jetskis and big boats cruise by.
Enjoy: street parking, tropical gardens, large saltwater swimming pool, jacuzzi, waterfront deck. For sight seeing and exploring the surrounding areas, there are buses nearby, or enjoy a short 20-25 minute walk past million dollar homes, to the light rail (tram/G-Link) and central Surfers Paradise. The Sorrento Shopping Centre, and the upmarket Capri on Via Roma Shopping Complex are also within walking distance.
We are well travelled and are now happy to welcome travellers to enjoy our beautiful home on the Nerang River. All nationalities very welcome in this happy home away from home. This is a magic place where magic happens.
I am a writer, a publisher, a journalist, a gardener, an artist ... I create magic spaces including fairy gardens, and quirky places to enjoy. I have taught business and conversationalist English while abroad, for several years.
When you choose the Happy House, my main purpose is to help you have a lovely, memorable holiday.
All are welcome here - both international visitors and aussies. You can look forward to enjoying a safe, private, happy experience close to the heart of world famous Surfers Paradise and its beautiful white sandy beaches and rolling blue oceans. One of the most picturesque places in the world.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

Check in time is 2pm. Check out time is 10am.
Smoking: We prefer you don't smoke, however there are designated smoking areas if needed. Smoking inside a NO NO. Fine applies. Ask where smoking is allowed.
Parking: Free street parking.
Access to pool and river between 9am - 5pm or by arrangement. NB no access to private lounge area on the deck.
Payment Method: Full payment in cash is required on arrival before moving in. Other payment methods may be possible. We will require 50% payment in advance for stays of more than one week, to ensure your booking.
Cancellation Policy: We ask our guests to give us at least 7 days’ notice for any cancellation PRIOR to their arrival. A cancellation fee is charged. Any cancellation later than this will not be refunded. No refund if a guest leaves early. Extended stays subject to availability.
Lost keys: incur a fee of $100.
Cleaning: You are responsible for keeping the toilet, showers and communal areas clean and to vacuum. You are also responsible for keeping the fridge, stove and microwave clean. We provide crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils but you need to wash these after use and put them away.
Food: You need to provide your own food and toilet paper.
Laundry: You are responsible for doing your own laundry. Also for washing your sheets if needed (for stays longer than 2 weeks). We provide the washing machine and there are outdoor lines to hang clothes on.

Can highly recommend!
Lynette and her family are a hoot!
Very fun, helpful and calm to be around, genuinly lovely people!Koala room is very cozy and got everything you need. I honestly haven't slept this good in ages, truly happy to be here and the peace and calm is just what I needed :)
Location is perfect for me, calm area and about 20 min walking distance to surfers paradise depending on how slow you walk. Also exists bus connection but recommend walking - there's a small shopping center on the way, some parks/nature and beautiful view from the bridge etc, just a very nice road to town

Surrounded by huge house, beautiful river and trees, it’s really quiet place located great surfers paradise! You can feel the slow life there. The oranges from tree are the best I ever had! Lynnette, Graham, mom and a little sunny boy, they’re always welcoming warmly and kind. They helped me whenever I needed. I’m gonna visit them while I’m in GC. Honestly the room I stayed was really small but the price was cheapest at homestay.com even though located in center of GC. Thank you for these days!

We loved hosting Sachiko in our cute little Koala Room and supplying her with fresh organic oranges straight from our tree and a bicycle to borrow during her stay. Five stars from us. Lovely person.

My recent stay at Lynette home was nothing short of delightful. I was warmly greeted by Lynette and her husband Graham. The location was perfect for exploring Gold Coast. Lynette and Graham provided me with help, valuable tips, and recommendations. I really enjoyed my vacation while staying there and I highly recommend Lynette's place for its comfort, hospitality, and memorable experiences. If I'm going to visit Gold Coast again with my mom or friends, surly I will stay again with Lynette as it feels like home. I was sad to leave , but until we meet again next time

Beautiful people. Great spot. After you prepare your meal in the kitchen eat breakfast lunch or dinner outside by the water. Message shower, free internet and tv. Maybe a little too expensive for a single but next time I'll barter with Lynette and offer a couple of nights of live performances and invite all other guests - party night LOL. Love you Lynette and Kate. Thank you for letting be myself.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
