Guests have access to all kitchen facilities and are welcome to lounge around in the common lounge / dining area downstairs. The courtyard at the back of the house is lovely for warm evening alfresco dining.
The bathroom and separate toilet facilities are shared. Shampoo / conditioner, soap, toothpaste & towels are supplied in the room for guests convenience.
Morningside is a convenient location for the CBD, Fortitude Valley & Oxford St Bulimba. There are a number of fabulous cafes and eateries in the vicinity and of course the liveliness of Oxford St 5 minutes drive away.
- Brisbane Airport is 15 minutes drive away (or a $30 taxi ride).
- A short drive (or bus trip) will get you to the Cannon Hill shopping precinct (Coles, Woolies, Aldi & K-Mart) or to the Carindale Westfield Shopping Centre.
- The bus stop into the CBD (or in the other direction to Carindale Westfield Shopping Centre) is within 1 minute walk.
- Morningside train station is within 10 mins walk. Trains to Southbank take 15 minutes and Roma St take 20 minutes.
- Buses to Kangaroo Point depart just near the train station and take 15 minutes.
- We are a 10 minute drive to the motorway for easy access to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast / Surfers Paradise.
I am a working mum but love a chat / wine / coffee with my guests. My surprisingly well-behaved toddler enjoys meeting new people and delights everyone who meets him (& he sleeps through the night!). We have two other permanent residents who has lived and travelled overseas and enjoy meeting new people. I love cooking, traveling, meeting new people from different cultures, all types of movies (except war movies or westerns!) and documentaries. I am a bit of a history buff and enjoyed living in London for many years. I returned to Australia a few years ago and think Brisbane is full of friendly people and a great place to bring up my young son (toddler). When I lived in London I loved traveling to Europe on long weekends and New York for quick shopping trips.

Melanie is a wonderful host who made my stay absolutely memorable, especially being so far away from home and being away from my kids. Cozy home, quiet and leafy suburb, conveniently located close to town and the CBD... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Melanie's place.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
