I offer a private guest suite in my home, a historic (ca. 1900) single shotgun cottage in the beautiful Bywater district. I share this happy home with my husband of 30+ years, and our two friendly and downright cuddly dogs. Jim and I both have a lifetime of experience in travel and lodging as hotel professionals, and have listed and shared our home for the last 13+ years, with great success, and glowing reviews. To be our guest is, to the extent that it suits you and your plans, a member of the family! We offer cocktail hours, city tours, and much, much more!

About the Area
Our house is situated in the heart of the lively, lovely Bywater district, about 500 feet from the Mississippi River. Among local attractions and amenities are Crescent Park, on the Mississippi, many restaurants, neighborhood haunts, music venues and cultural highlights. The Vieux Carré (French Quarter) is about 10 minutes away by car, about 30 minutes on foot, through one of America’s most charming and vibrant communities.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
1. Smoking is allowed outside only.
2. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not be admitted to the property at any time without the express permission of the Homeowners and may not stay overnight in the property in any case. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
3. The Property is a private residence; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
4. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order
5. Only use appliances for their intended uses.
6. Pets are NOT allowed.
7. Children are NOT allowed.
8. Parking: Parking is limited to 1 vehicle. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is generally available at all times, however. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
9. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While bed linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the property.
10. Storms: If there is a storm or hurricane, no refunds will be given unless:
• The state or local authorities order mandatory evacuations in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning area" and/or
• A "mandatory evacuation order has been given for the Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning" area of residence of a vacationing guest.
• The day that the authorities order a mandatory evacuation order in a "Tropical Storm/Hurricane Warning," area, we will refund:
-Any unused portion of rent from a guest currently registered;
-Any unused portion of rent from a guest that is scheduled to arrive, and wants to shorten the stay, to come in after the Hurricane Warning is lifted; and any advance rents collected or deposited for a reservation that is scheduled to arrive during the "Hurricane Warning" period.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
