Hi my name is Corrine and I have been hosting international children, students and adults since 2002. I have enjoyed my time meeting new people and also experiencing their cuisine and culture. Although I am a professional who works locally I can offer english lessons, vocabulary and conversation for a small fee. I have taught many international students and they have truly benefitted from the lessons. I love cooking international cuisine and sharing experiences . I am also a Group Co-Ordinator for a company based in London who bring International students to Sutton Coldfield. I live in a beautiful countryside village Harlaston, which is located between Lichfield & Tamworth two other historical towns. Birmingham which is a train ride away (20 mins), a big city which has numerous shops, canals, theatres, museums and a great deal of cafes and restaurants. The area also has many network connections served by many main roads and motorways together with an excellent train service to reach all over the country.
The house is located in a courtyard setting with a farmhouse and a few similar properties. We have 1 double bedroom and en-suite looking over the large garden and surrounding fields. There is a large country kitchen and dining room. Large lounge with patio doors to the garden and patio/barbeque area. There is a large pergola with seating area. There is a space for a car at the front of the property.
Myself and my partner enjoy most sports , socialising, cooking, watching movies, music, festivals, reading, learning foreign languages, international cuisine, travel, television, gardening, nature, board games, fashion design, and theatre. I speak English. I work as a Banker locally to the house and enjoy my spare time and make the most of enjoying life and meeting new people. Please do give me chance to reply to your request as I can only put one email address on the site which makes it difficult to always reply on the same day, but trust me the calendar is always updated and I will get back to you thank you.
I can offer transport for a small fee or guided tours if needed. I can also offer a Cultural Infusion Experience which takes in all the local sightseeing activities locally and also in Birmingham Centre. I can also go further afield if necessary ie., Stratford Upon Avon (Shakespeare's birthplace), Warwick, Oxford and London, this would be an extra cost if you needed more of an input to help with developing your English conversation etc., please ask for further details or a programme to suit yourself.
The room rate includes the following services: regular room cleaning, pick-up service (small charge) washing machine usage (once per week) and internet access, etc (just ask).
Additional available services at an extra charge (payable directly to your host on arrival):
Lunch: 3.95 GBP per person per night. Diner £6.50
Come and join us for a few days or even longer you wont be disappointed.

Wasn't a very good experience, the communication was poor, I sent my mobile no to call, but hasn't. On last min. Of the day of check in, received a message to do check in at 7 pm which ruined my plans of getting my 18 years nephew, Home wasn't clean and smelly, toilet wasn't clean. Following day my nephew called me to get out as he couldn't stay and didn't feel comfort. Even i have paid full on front he was stopped on his way out from of the House members which wasn't very decent act and the boy didn't feel comfortable.

The house is located near the train station in a very quiet area, for people like me who like walking is an ideal place. The room is warm and welcoming. Corrine was really kind and advised me of places to visit nearby and allowed me to use her kitchen. I'm sorry to have been there for just a few days but I hope to return soon.

I stopped at Corrine’s Home and had a great stay.Sutton Coldfield is a great area, plenty of things to see and do and a train that is only a short walk from the house. Corrine couldn’t do enough for me especially me travelling alone. The bedroom was very comfy and cosy. Corrine let me cook and we had a few meals together. I will definitely miss our chats and hope I can stay again on my next trip to England. Thank you for everything.

Host reply
