This is your chance to experience the real life of Zanzibar. We live a traditional life here and love showing visitors how we live. You will have your own bedroom with a comfy double bed and mosquito net. 3 delicious homecooked meals per day will be provided giving you the chance to experience amazing zanzibarian home cooking. The facilities are of a local standard - please do not expect a western style shower and toilet. All facilities are clean and adequate for your stay.
We are based in a peaceful village, surrounded by palm trees and mangrove and we are very close to the centre of jozani rainforest. Paje is a 15 minute bus journey and stone town is 2 hours away.
You will love your cultural experience. Staying with a local family with children in the house. This is perfect for those wanting to get off the beaten track and experience a different way of life. 3 home cooked meals per day will be provided, all cooked from ingredients sourced from the local area. The father of the house is also a qualified tour guide, so he will be able to tell you lots of information about the local area. He also has a high standard of English.

The property is located in the peaceful Muungoni Village on the outskirts of the Jozani Rainforest. This is an off the beaten track location perfect for those wanting to escape the tourist hotspots.

Such a lovely Family :)
It was such a amazing experience (learning something aboult culture, way of living, cooking, learning Swahili, playing with Kids, doing a mangrove Tour, doing a village tour)

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
