This was our first visit to South Africa. Marilin was our first stop and we’re so glad she was. She’s an amazing host, she went above and beyond.
When we arrived she provided a welcome pack which was ample and much appreciated.
We didn’t have a car for our stay here so used Uber taxis to get about (on Marilin’s recommendation). These worked really well - v good value.
The accommodation was perfect for us - we used both units (2 couples). Beds v comfortable, kitchen area well stocked with tv for those who wanted it. Also washing machines in both units which was v handy for the end of our 5 day stay.
Marilin’s accommodation is well placed for many of the local attractions.
Would we return? Yes definitely!
Thank you for such a fantastic introduction to your beautiful country x

What a wonderful experience: our studio was lovely decorated and had all amenities of a home away from home. With ample of space we enjoyed staying there for more than a week and Marilin, our host, even thought to provide us with some detergent to wash our laundry, thus no need to buy a big box for one or 2 loads. And yes, we had our own washing-machine, too. We arrived late in the evening and even the fridge was equipped with everything for a nice breakfast next morning, since we wouldn't have had a chance to shop at night. On top of that a generous basket with fresh fruits was waiting for us. The towels were changed every second day, the linen (since we stayed 8 nights) after 4 days. Satellite TV (not that we needed much of it) was working perfectly well, covering the whole world, including my 'home-channel' DW (German TV). The bed was very comfy and because the place is in a quiet neighborhood area, we slept very well. We had our own entry and even a separate and secured entry for parking our car. Even an iron and an ironing board was available, the rain-shower was very refreshing and we could have stayed there for much longer.
The location is very good, because it's central and close to most attractions: about 20km/minutes to Capetown International Airport, 20 minutes (off traffic peaks) to central Capetown, 30 minutes to Stellenbosch and the wine region and 20 minutes to Kirstenbosch or Simonstown.
But the best are the people behind it: Marilin, her mom Marjorie and her husband Leslie. We not only got a warm welcome but they gave us a lot of valuable information of where to go and what to do and see and - even more valuable - a lot of background information regarding South Africa. It was a true homestay experience, in fact: the best me and my wife ever had so far. Thanks again Marilin, Marjorie and Leslie for being so perfect hosts! We came as guests, but we left as friends :-)Host reply
