I was looking for a room in a house and when I contacted her Lucero told me she had a mini apartment. It was dreadful. I felt like crying when I was shown in and only stayed 3 nights while I looked for an alternative. Basically they had converted the ground floor extension that the people opposite used as a laundry room! It was not a building with 4 walls and a roof but there were bricks up to about waist height and glass above (the panels had gaps between them) with a plastic roof. It was bitterly cold. They had to go out and buy an extension lead as there were no sockets except over the sink. The fridge did not have an electric lead that I could see. this mini apartment is in an enclosed courtyard that gets almost no natural light. There are 2 steps down to enter then immediately 2 steps up into the kitchen and another 2 steps up into the bathroom. The downstairs bedroom had no windows and just a curtain instead of a wall with a door. The upstairs one had an area of plastic to let in some light and is accessed by the narrowest circular staircase possible and no door when you are in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable enough and there were plenty of blankets. Lucero and her mother were pleasant and Lucero did take me out and show me where the shops were in Wancaq but Lucero works fulltime and her mother had to return to the Sacred Valley where the other two rooms are located to feed the cats though her mother actually asked me what I expected for - I think - 8 dollars a night!
