In the Lotka Ecolodge, we try to admire the nature lovers of the north of Iran, Gilan, by adhering to the principles of sustainable tourism, protecting the environment, involve the villagers and respecting the culture of Gilan People. To accomplish this, we transferred the house that was to be destroyed from a village in the east of Gilan to western Gilan. Therefore, by saving the house of ISSA KHAN, we helped to preserve the environment and the rural heritage of Gilan. We dedicate a place (Kanduj store) to the village folk handicrafts in Lotka Ecolodge so rural artists can sell directly their handicrafts as souvenirs to tourists. Here all the food is local and organic and is often cooked by the villagers.
In Lotka Ecolodge, you will get acquainted with the culture and nature of Gilan. So, you can take part in the daily activities and ceremonies of the village at certain times, go to the mountains, forests, and lagoons around here and get acquainted with the nature of the Hyrcanian Caspian Sea.
The house of Issa Khan is the only residence place in the Lotka’s area. This 2 story house built in accordance with Gilan’s traditional architecture. The first floor (Jir-Otaq) is a large 20-meter room with terrace. The second floor (Jor-Khane) has two 12-meter rooms and a large balcony (Talar), which has a view to the four sides of the house. This floor is rented entirely for the sake of the comfort of guests, but if you want, you can rent each room at half the price. Each floor is for 4 people, but the maximum capacity for each floor is 6 people. For each additional person, 10% is added to the total cost.
To maintain traditional architecture, the bathroom is located outside the house, but each floor has a private bathroom and restroom. The house is not suitable for elderly, disabilities people, and children because of stairs. We give a blanket, mattress, pillow, clean linen and towel to the guests at the time of arrival. Free parking and Wi-Fi are available. Breakfast is served daily from 7:30-10. There is poor access to Wi-Fi in the rooms, but it’s good in the courtyard. In Lotka, most of the food is cooked by the local cooks. Pavilions and gardens are public. Guests can use the Lotka’s kitchen in coordination with the hosts and pick local vegetables from the garden. So arrange for order lunch or dinner from a day ago. Every day we have walking in the village. If you want, we would be happy to join us.
