Saino- The Heritage is actually a British Officers Bungalow built in 1907.
It has been lovingly restored to its current form so that guests can enjoy the heritage of the past along with the most modern amenities.
The rooms are large and spacious and come with their own attached bathrooms.
The double bedded rooms have their own fire places. This is something quite unique to Saino. Takdah can get quite cold at times.
One has to simply experience the warm glow of the crackling fireplace to understand why it is such a big hit with the guests.
Beside, on request burn fire can be arranged in the lawn during winter season.
Like all officers' bungalow of the Raj, Saino has a large veranda overlooking a big lawn and garden.
Besides colourful seasonal flowers and the lush green Mexican grass, the lawn has two exquisitely designed water fountains of 1907 vintage.
The sunrise seen from each bedroom is unforgettable
This heritage is actually run by the retired teacher with the help of the son, daughter,son-in-law, daughter in law,and two school children who help during their holidays.

About the Area
Takdah: Takdah is a little secret tucked away neatly in the folds of the Darjeeling hills. However it is quite central to all the places of interest around here. It is about 60km away from both NJP the nearest railhead and Bagdora the only airport in North Bengal. Kalimpong too is not far, being situated to the east, at a distance of about 40km. Darjeeling is closer at about 28km.
The history of Takdah goes way back to the times of the British Raj when it was established as a military cantonment. The architecture of the place hence is colonial.
Although the British have left, these buildings which are now mostly owned by the locals give a taste of living that the officers of the Raj were accustomed to.
Our Guest house is just above Dara Dokan-a local market where a weekly hat(buying and selling of vegetables locally produce and other items) takes place on Thursday and just below Dechen Pema Choiling Gumpa.

When you use geezers in bathroom if you are not use to it please ask for help.You can help us in kitchen to prepare your favorite food or you can prepare your food as per your choice but within the budget.We serve breakfast between 7.30 to 9.0 AM lunch between 12.00 - 2.00 and dinner before 8.30PM in winter and 9.0 PM in summer.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
