Bonjour, je suis Douglas
I like to spend my Canadian winters in a much more warmer climate. I am a retired person, having spent much of my working life as both a police officer, and a UN peace keeper.

This was the worst home that I have ever stayed in, when using homestay.com. Unfortunately the hygienic standards of Rolands family, left a lot to be desired. I only ate one meal in their home, not even having breakfast there, as the kitchen had food scraps on the counters and floor, and I found bed bugs in my bedding. And when I confronted them about the bed bugs, Roland did not seem to be all that concerned about it, not even to offer me some money back for the bed bug infestation. The whole house looked like it was a tip. Plus their central heating system was not working properly, as the temperature in my bedroom, never got to be over 17c. And in their bathroom, the floor was literally just bare painted floor boards, and I don't mean modern strip pine, or oak flooring, but the original flooring of a one hundred years old property. I don't think I would ever recommend this property to anyone else, not even to my worst enemy.
George and Karen, were very good hosts, and I would thoroughly recommend anyone else wishing to stay at their guest home. Buses into and returning to Limassol stop right across the street from their home. I found everything just great.
Jenny turned out to be a perfect host, with a nice clean, comfortable home, with a nice swimming pool, in which to cool off in, after a hot day. Located in a nice quiet location. A ten minute walk to shops, bus stop, sports facilities, and the beach. I would recommend anyone wishing to stay with Jenny.
I wouldn't recommend Katie to any other person wanting to stay with her, even though her home is fine.
Natalie is definitely a very good host, and I would recommend anyone wishing to stay with her in the future. The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood, and yet is still only two hundred metres of two bus routes, which was very handy.
Lorraine Lee who was my host for a week in Otahuhu, was very helpful with information in order to get around the city of Auckland. She provided me with a comfortable room, and very good meals, and I couldn't fault her in any way, and would recommend her to anyone wishing to stay in her home.
Doug.
