Guest stayed in his bedroom most of the time (possibly due to his dislike of animals as we have pets as stated in the description).
The guest initially booked for 2 nights and ended up extending his stay for 10 nights total. He was advised that he would need to find alternate accommodations by 6th night and that we could only host for 3 more days (2 nights). However, the guest claimed he was unable to secure alternate accommodations so, being understanding of the situation, I extended his stay for 2 more nights (on top of the 8 nights) despite us being out of town and slightly uncomfortable with leaving someone in our home without us there. I also helped him find alternate accommodations via a quick trip advisor search that took 2 seconds. We also arranged for someone to drop him off at a nearby train/bus station without additional cost.
We asked the guest to not wear shoes in the house but did see that the guest wore sandals upstairs into the bedroom. The guest also broke our toilet brush and did not let us know until the last day.
The guest also prefers it on the cool side so we accommodated by turning on the air conditioning all the time during his stay even though it was quite cool outside.
The guest may be confusing homestay with hotel.
