What makes ¨el Holandes¨ special is the sincere hospitality of the family. You enjoy cuban family life here but you also have your privacy if wanted.
They welcome you with a cocktail to your taste, have cooled beer, soft drinks, wine and water in your refrigerator
If wanted they even teach you to dance the salsa...
The family owns a nearby farm with cows, horses, pigs and goats which you can visit. From the farm you can take a guided horse riding tour.
With their renovated car, a Chevrolet 1953, they can take you on excursions to old sugarcane plantations in the nearby ¨valle de los Ingenios¨, go to cities like Cienfuegos or Santa Clara or just bring you to the beach of Trinidad.
The Dutch owner speaks English and Spanish fluently.

We had a nice stay in this casa. We were here for three nights. The family was really friendly en helpfull. Only the beds were a little bit hard and the shower didn't have much pressure. Everything else was great! Thank you for the stay.

Their casa particular is far more pretty than the pictures of the website show. Our room was always clean, the food was delicious and all the people there took care of us in a lovely way. They have a beautiful terrace on the top of the roof with a great view. It has been our best accommodation in Cuba! Only a suggestion: as first thing, make clear with them what it is really included in the breakfast.

Really nice and clean room in a really beautiful accommodation. 10’ from viazul station, just 5’ from Plaza Carillo (where you can find the nearest wi-fi spot) and 12’ from “Plaza Mayor” and the best sites of the city. Tasty and freshly made breakfast and meals at any time you ask! People are very kind and helpful. Thank you for your hospitality!

We visited Trinidad in December, and we're spending three nights over Christmas at Herman's home. We were a group of 8 and had booked four rooms in his home.
Having booked this casa over 7 months in advance, I was informed that due to double booking with his family, our group was to split up with another casa around the corner. We were told we would be offered a free bottle of wine in compensation however we were more concerned that we be would split up on Christmas Day.
We decided to continue to stay at Herman's casa because it was too late to book another casa.
Positives:
He was very good at keeping in touch over the months about our arrival and we had built up good rapport. The location of the casa was perfect, easily walkable to the key areas and restaurants.
When we arrived, we ended up having 3 rooms in his home and 1 in another one around the corner. He explained to us the excursions that we could go on and what was around the area.
Yolanda (his wife) and the staff in the home were absolutely lovely and caring. Very friendly with all of us and charming.
Negatives:
We had a light breakfast included, however, not entirely sure if it can be classified as breakfast (stale bread, tea/coffee and milk with lumps...)
When we asked for a new towel, we were met with a 'No' and got told that this was not a hotel.Herman demanded us to pay the full balance randomly. We did not have all the money with us as we were expecting to convert some at the local hotel. He was not pleased, despite having paid a deposit. At the end, we decided to pay it in small amounts as we didn't know what else to do. This made us uncomfortable and it led to Herman and my partner having a discussion on what the right way should have been to deal with this. This is not something we liked to deal with, and should have been clarified earlier via emails.

Casa Holandes was beautiful, very relaxing and in a great location. We only stayed for 1 night and would have loved to stay for longer. The staff/family here were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Yuder and Caridad were extremely helpful and were a God send for knowing so much English as our Spanish was not up to scratch. Yolaida helped to make us feel at home right away with her kindness and generosity. Thank you to everyone at Casa Holandes. We would definitely recommend this Homestay and would like to stay here again someday.

Appartement un peu vétuste malheureusement mais les hôtes sont très, très sympathiques et à l'écoute. Séjour bien agréable à 2 pas du centre ville et des principaux points d'intérêts de Trinidad.

The hosts were good to us and very friendly. They offered us food and set the ground rules well. They offered us tours, we booked one which was OK, a bit expensive for what was offered but good anyway. The stay was good, in a good location and friendly staff. Their dinner and breakfast was good.

Thank you in Yuder for its reception (Hermann was in Europe), its flexibility and its smile for the change of room asked, and also ballade with horse and assistance for the flat tire! Room and bathroom was very clean, completely correct breakfast.

Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame mensen. Hun kreeft was lekker. Het "licht" inbegrepen ontbijt meer dan OK.

We were disappointed that Herman and Yolanda were not there as we had been responding with them; but we were not disappointed for long as everyone was so kind and helpful. We had great food and a wonderful trek to the valley.
