There is no Lidia. Overcharged taxi from the airport, send by the manager of the house (one relative of Lidia). They stop the hot water and the air condition every time of the day. The first day 3 relatives of Lidia were waiting us on the road and lied to us that our room was damaged, so they guided us to a terrible room, 500 meter far (on foot) to stay the night. The second day we went back on foot and we met a Canadian woman who told us that she slept in our room (grey room) last night. The breakfast was a coffee, 2 thin slices of bread and 1 small butter. Bad experience!

Photo of the nice room are misguiding. The room and bathroom have no aeration and no windows at all. Terrible smells of mold. We slept with open door for two nights. The bathroom is renovated but it is so small that you cannot move. Hot water according to the will of the landlady...meaning slightly warm. We were proposed to sleep in another room but the smell of mold was even worse. The door of the bathroom improvised, meaning that bad smell filters into the bedroom. Position is ok but very noisy.

We have been very satisfied. The room was nice and clean, cozy, privat bathroom and toilet. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.Anabella who has worked here has been really perfect, kind with kids, always available for her guests, she could advise and manage everything.Nearby the apartment there are good restaurants and monuments. However,we had trouble communicating effectively before our stay - e.g. nobody showed up at the airport as originally agreed.

The apartment is very nice for what one expects for Cuba. Everyone associated with the apartment is super nice. My issue is, it says "light breakfast is included" while a "full breakfast upon request." We didn't request anything, we sat down at the table and were asked how did we want our eggs cooked. That makes one believe that is part of the "light breakfast". Obviously, we were all surprised at the size of the breakfast, but we were never asked or had it explained to us the difference. The moment people book on homestay it should be explained in the fine print more clearly. The moment people arrive at the apartment, it should be explained again. It was only a lack of communication in the end, but not the best way to end your stay at such a lovely centrally located apartment run by great people.

You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
