House Rules
Our main mission is to make your stay a unique, repeatable and recommendable experience. For this we are in the best position to meet your needs and be as flexible as possible, as long as compliance with the legislation of our country, which among other things prevents refuses to obey not:
- Drug use and / or drugs
- To invite strangers to your quarters
- Do not declare to the authorities the data of guests who will be staying home
Failure to follow these rules may result in serious penalties for us as hosts, such as the confiscation of our house.
For that reason and because we are a particular official licensed home is important to note that on arrival, you must show official identification of each guest for registration in the book of the house.
The visit of personnel who are not registered as a guest is not legal and therefore is against the rules of the house. The Cuban government requires such measures to private houses officers to provide complete safety and security to visitors.
Respect standard rules of civic and formal education will be necessary since we are in the heart of the city, surrounded by neighbors who carry out their daily lives in the surrounding environment, which has the advantage of allowing the experience as if it were a local.

We stayed with Yaima, or should I say Yaima's Mum Anna for three nights. The location is perfect and you can reach all the sights in Old Havana very easily. If you haven't been to old Havana, the first few hours are a slight culture shock. The street, front door and communal lift make you wonder what you've let yourself in for. Once you enter Anna's spotlessly clean and airy flat your worries are allayed. The room is large with a high ceiling and a large un-glazed window with wooden shutters. A spotless bathroom was attached. Anna's breakfast were very good and she was always very attentive and helpful. The only downside, and it is our fault, is that Anna only speaks Spanish. Thank goodness for Google translate offline and fellow multi-lingual guests.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
