We have a lovely comfortable studio above our shop on an acreage in Cobble Hill, near Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island British Columbia. The apartment is private and we are a retired couple who live in the main house. It is completely furnished with one queen bed, full kitchen, bath with shower and wifi with a TV with Roku and movie apps to sign into. There are two small decks to enjoy fresh air. We are fluent in English and can speak French. This is a fairly quiet neighborhood and we prefer our guests to be respectful of this.

About the Area
Our home is located near Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island British Columbia. We are 6 Kilometres from the town of Cobble Hill and closest large grocery store although there are smaller ones closer by. We are situated another 6 K or so from the Pacific Ocean and our area offers great hiking, kayaking, wineries and many other amenities. We are surrounded by beautiful cedars, pines and other natural elements. The closest hospital is 10 kilometers away in Duncan BC and there is bus service around. Mill Bay is close by with a small shopping center however Duncan offers a variety of shopping options for every taste from small boutique like stores to larger box stores. There are a number of farm markets in the area as well.

House Rules
This is a private studio apartment above our shop in a quiet neighborhood on an acreage. The rules are simple .E-transfers are required and payments are expected upfront one week before check-in date. Cancellations are also expected one week before check-in or guests will forfeit their payment which won't be returned. Please maintain a quiet atmosphere between 10PM and 8AM. We expect clear communication as we try and reply promptly and respectfully. Abusive or foul language will not be tolerated and guests may be asked to leave if breaking these rules. Pets of any kind are not allowed and there is a friendly dog on the property. Guests are not to walk around the remainder of the property to respect our privacy.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
