A very positive and enjoyable experience. Gerardo was the perfect host - welcoming, warm, courteous, helpful but not at all intrusive. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom likewise and worked well, and the balcony was delightful. We appreciated the location - away from the main street but very close to the beach and within easy walking distance of the restaurants and other amenities. Great!

Had a very positive experience. Comfortable room, nice firm mattress, everything clean and operational. Five-minute walk to the beach. Gerardo, who speaks English, was very helpful in all respects and went out of his way to reserve a taxi collectivo to Havana for me. He also brews a wonderful carafe of coffee in the morning.

I loved everything about Geraldo’s “balcon” homestay, but I would have liked being a little closer to “the centre” of Varadero. . . though it’s true there isn’t really a centre to this town, just an area where there are a few more restaurants and bars. Having said that, beach access and a few cafes and restaurants are very near. The room is lovely and clean; French doors open out to a large and comfortable balcony with chairs and a table. It’s very quiet, too, so you will sleep well here! Every morning I stayed (3 days), Geraldo served me a thermos of delicious hot coffee on the balcony. Great way to start the day. He did laundry for me, and arranged a taxi to the airport (at a very good price). I felt very well looked after and recommend this homestay.

Gerardo is a very friendly host, served the best coffee in Varadero, room is small but clean and includes everything you need. Gerardo also helped us to find a taxi to bring us to Santa Clara. We always would choose this casa again.
