Marijke has a lovely and rustic homestay on a beautiful location. She is a very welcoming person who is really busy in this season (December). The toilet and bathroom are outside, the bed is very comfy. We are so glad we had the chance to stay here.

On the 19th of December we came to Auckland. We were very new at the homestay experience. Our very first homestay was with Michiko in Auckland. It felt like a warm bath. After a long travel to get here, we were tired. Michiko made us feel comfortable right away. Our room was really spacious and we could sit outside. That's a great holiday feeling. Michiko offered dinner to us. We (still weary of the long travel) agreed. We got a home cooked meal and lovely company. The other days were great. We explored Auckland and surroundings. And we came home to a beautiful cooked dinner once again. On the day we travelled along, Michiko even gave us some fruit for the road ahead. Our stay with Monica during Christmas was just wonderful. It is very special to us that we could stay there in this family-visiting time like Christmas. We never felt like we were a burden. Monica has a beautiful and luxurious home. Everything was brand new. And they (the couple) were also very welcoming.
