About the Homestay
We are a high energy family living in the North County area of San Diego. We love meeting new people from foreign countries. I have experienced living with foreign exchange students since I was 5. Now that I am a mother, I enjoy opening our home to international students for the benefit of my children. I have traveled to Canada, Mexico, Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. My husband is from Brazil and is also a Canadian/US dual citizen. We enjoy going to the beach, hiking, biking, swimming, cooking, and bonfires in our backyard. We have one large dog who lives outside and is very friendly. Our house is about 10 minutes from Palomar college and 15 minutes from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM). We are 20 minutes or less from most beaches in Carlsbad or Oceanside. In order to get maximum enjoyment out of their stay, students are expected to keep their homestay space clean and organized. Students are to clean up after themselves in the kitchen, bathroom and their bedroom. Students are expected to speak kindly, be patient with the kids, and be respectful. Foul language or bad words in our house are not allowed. We look forward to meeting new students and making some amazing memories together.
