Hello,

My name is Lea and my husband, Christian and I would like to provide a home stay to foreigners who are attending language school. We both lived abroad in Japan. He is in contracting and I was an English teacher but now a stay at home mom. We have two cats so if your are allergic, this isn’t the place for you but if you are an animal lover, come on over. I lived in Japan and worked as an English teacher for 5 years. I would love to host a student and help them improve their English speaking skills. We do have a son at home however we have a rather large home and sound is not an issue for us. We stay in through the week and often go to the park or Oceanside on the weekends. We will provide breakfast every morning but cannot guarantee dinner every night. As far as transportation, we can either take you to school as it’s probably on the way to work or drop you off at the nearest train station.
House rules are simple : no shoes in the house, no smoking and no guests may come over without approval. Please clean up after yourself if you use any dishes or utensils. Be kind and courteous, guests are responsible for cleaning your room & bathroom weekly. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the kitchen, laundry room, dining room etc. We will supply laundry soap, fabric softener, hand soap and toilet paper. We provide a light breakfast, (continental) such as cereal, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. There are cooking privileges, you must clean up promptly. We provide food storage in a refrigerator that is shared. NO overnight guests, NO pets, Full monthly Payment is due upon move in day. Thank you! We would love to have you in our home!

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
