Hi! I have a charming, small house (built 1914) with a huge fenced backyard, a front yard, and a side yard with many visiting birds and squirrels. I share it with my 9-year-old who declines to use the room I meant for her because she prefers to share mine. This leaves it for you if you want it! I also have a 20-year-old son who has a finished basement room he uses on breaks from college (he attends classes during the summer, so these breaks tend to be no longer than a week). My house is two blocks from the MAX train station and a 10-minute drive/20-minute bike ride to downtown. Lots of parking available, as my street is a dead-end one (so very quiet). It's a ride/walk from N. Mississippi Avenue, which is very popular for its restaurants, shops, and bars. The Oregon Coast is an hour, 30 mins away one direction. Hood River is an hour the other. Hiking areas are a 15-minute drive away. We speak English and Spanish and love to travel. Finally, so you know, the pics are untouched, just from my phone without special lighting effects other than natural light, so you get what you see (except a second bed if there are two of you), no surprises. Also, the bed shown is new as of May 2023. The mattress is a Twin Escape 500 Bedtech cooling gel mattress.

About the Area
My house is a 10-minute drive or a quick 5-stop ride on the MAX trains from downtown. It's a quiet residential area close to parks on one side (including what are known as the bluffs) and walking distance to city-life on the other. I chose my house as a mother and a cyclist because it's out of the way of traffic and noise and yet so much is within walking and riding distance (on bike or train), there's no need for a car.

House Rules
I require payment two days before your booked stay by Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay or Paypal. You are free to cancel without penalty up until 6 AM on the day before your stay. If you cancel after 6 AM on the day before, I will refund all but 30% of your payment.
As for rules, they are to be respectful of me and my family, as we will be respectful of you and yours. Please clean up after yourself. Please refrain from waking us up with noise or by other means when we are sleeping. Please no being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Okay to drink a glass or two, just no intoxication. No guests allowed. If you want to stay with somebody, just book for two. Overall, I'd say I'm pretty easy-going. I have been travelling the world since 16, studied abroad, and try to emulate the kind of hosts I've appreciated and avoid being the other kind.

Mi estancia con Tonya fue increíble, no tengo palabras para explicar su hospitalidad. Fui muy afortunada de vivir con ella y con su hija. Me abrieron las puertas de su casa siendo nueva en Portland y se convirtieron en mi única familia. Gracias por todo Tonya.

very clean and comfortable stay in a quiet neighborhood!! Tonya even provided useful toiletries like ear plugs and makeup wipes. I slept like a baby!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
