I am a Manhattan lawyer living solo in a large three-bedroom apartment in the historic Ironbound District of Newark, New Jersey. The train to Manhattan is a ten to twelve minute walk from the house, and arrives at the World Trade Center of Midtown in about 20-25 minutes. And it costs as little as $2.10, less than the New York City subway!
My Place
I offer two spacious bedrooms each with a full size bed for two persons, with full use of the kitchen, dining area, living room, and balcony overlooking the Newark Downtown. The apartment is very large and comfortable, with free WiFi and a bathroom exclusively for guests. (There is one bathroom for two guest rooms.)
You can prepare meals at home (I provide dishes, pots and pans, and a few basic food items -- please ask before buying spices, etc.; I might already have), or enjoy one of the many excellent local eateries, such as Delicias de Minas at the corner. There are two grocery stores very close to the house, both with a variety of ethnic offerings.

Between the two of us, we speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French. Hablamos español. Falamos português. Parliamo italiano. Nous parlons français.
If you drive, street parking is not usually a problem in our neighborhood. We will tell you which areas to avoid and when.

About the Area
I'm located eight blocks from the Newark Penn Station train station, with access to the PATH and New Jersey Transit lines into Manhattan. My place is located in the Ironbound section of Newark, known for its Portuguese and Brazilian culture. It's a few minutes from Newark International Airport, one of the three major airports that serve New York City. New York City is easily accessible by car or train. Public transportation to and from Manhattan is extremely simple, quick, and cheap.

PLEASE NOTE: While I'm flexible about check-in and check-out, I work in Manhattan during weekdays, so it is preferable if guests can arrive in the evening, after 6:00 PM. I will do my best to accommodate an earlier check-in time, but cannot guarantee it.
NO SMOKING IN THE HOME OR ON THE BALCONY. Non-smokers preferred.
PLEASE DO NOT EAT IN THE ROOM. Kindly clean up after yourself.
There is plenty of street parking available. Under limited circumstances, I might be able to offer weekday off-street parking. Please ask. Otherwise, PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THE DRIVEWAY.
Please notify me before bringing any day guests home. No overnight guests without prior permission. See applicable room rates.
The downstairs entrance must be kept double-locked at all times and the stairway lights turned off when not in use. Please be quiet in the stairway.
I don't require it, but prefer shoes be left at the door. I have flip-flops for indoor use if you like.
I keep clean linen on the closet shelves for the use of guests. In order to guarantee a pleasant experience for all our guests, I ask that you not place dirty items on the shelves (yes, someone actually did this!).
The apartment has central air. If you want the temperature adjusted, please ask. I will be glad to accommodate you.

Che dire? consiglio a tutti di soggiornare..... io ho intenzione di tornare, mi sono trovato bene... la camera ha un letto grande e comodo con pavimento in moquette...pulita e comoda... per chi ama il fitness ci sono degli attrezzi nella living room che si possono usare solo su richiesta.. buona permanenza a chi alloggerà qui. Glen is an amazing host... Really friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. His place is really tidy and comfortable. The neighbourhood is great too- you are close to lovely bars and restaurants and very close to Newark Penn Station. It's safe to walk around at night too! I had a blast and was sad to go. I will definitely be back Glen!

Es gibt ein paar Regeln einzuhalten - nachlesbar in seinem Text, dies empfand ich überhaupt nicht als störend, zumal es dem ganz normalen Alltag auch in der eigenen Wohnung entspricht.Glen ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und entgegenkommend.
Eine Weiterempfehlung kann ich nur zustimmen, bitte aber nicht genau dann, wenn ich versuche ihn nochmal zu besuchen ;)

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
