About the Homestay
We live in a community of 100 year old private homes originally built as one of the first suburbs of New York City. It is a Victorian style house less than 1 block from the subway, about a 20 minute ride to Mid-Town Manhattan. We have 2 sons, one who just received his Masters and another who is an actor. We have been hosting students from around the world who come to study English in NY for about 4 1/2 years.
We have a large eat in kitchen and a pretty untamed backyard as well as a front porch where you can watch the neighborhood walk by. We are about a 10 minute walk to Prospect Park which was designed by the same team that designed its more famous sister Central Park.
We provide sheets and towels so you don't have to fill your suitcases with that. While we are fine with you using the microwave and putting 1 or 2 items in the refrigerator we do not share the kitchen.
The prices listed are our winter prices; we charge a little more in the summer because we have much more demand. The price for T's room remains the same all year. Because I don't know how to note this on the price chart here please contact me if you want to come between March and September and we can talk about the pricing.
We have been providing Homestays for a couple of years and have enjoyed great relationships with our guests.
We always find the Homestay works best if we chat on line before you book. So please, drop us a note and ask any questions you have and we'll get right back to you.
We look forward to hosting you!
We provide a light breakfast. If you are interested in having dinners with the family that can be arranged for an additional fee. English is the only language spoken in the house (excluding other guests). There is street parking pretty readily available.

About the Area
Our house is located in the Borough of Brooklyn, one of the 5 Boroughs that make up New York City. We live about 1 block from the subway station. Prospect Park South is a very active community with private security and neighbors who keep an eye on the action on the street. The subway does run behind our house and you will probably be aware of it for a day. Then the sound seems to be absorbed and you don't notice it any more. We are about 40 minutes from Kennedy Airport and local transportation is quite good.

Most of the rules are common sense: no food in the bedrooms, we are a non-smoking house, keep the noise to a level that is considerate of other tenants, do not bring non-guests into the home without a prior arrangement with us. A light breakfast is included and we can make arrangements for you to join us for dinner for a very reasonable fee. We do NOT offer our guests kitchen privileges and offer only very minor refrigerator space. Do not plan to store or cook food.
Smoking is not allowed.
Judith is great, very friendly, funny and above all she cooks very well. I have a good time.
A kind family and a cozy home. It’s a sad place to stay short. I really want to stay again when i come to New York. I miss this place and judith’s family. I hope to see you again!
Judith and her family are kind and friendly people, my staying was comfortable and pleasant. I felt myself free. Breakfast is usually bread and jam, butter, tea, coffee,a fruit salad. Also Judith serves tasty, traditional and every day different dinners. It is not like you are staying at a hotel, there’s no cleaning in your room, but you can do laundry once a week. The location is great.
Wonderful family!! Home iin a great location.
Our stay with Judith and her family was simply perfect. They are really nice and hospitable people, their house is comfy and breakfast was really good.
We didn’t get to share that much time with them because we had a pretty tight schedule, but the times we did were awesome.
We will be looking forward to go back.
Thank you for everything!
We stayed Judith’s house for a week with my son. The experient that we had in Judith’s house made our holiday so special. Judith and her family members are so delightful, warmhearted and thoughtful people. Thanks to them, we were able to have a wonderful time in New York. All the dishes Judith cooked were super delicious. We enjoyed her meal and a joyful conversation every night. I think we were very lucky to have been able to stay with Judith’s family. I miss them so much. When we visit New York next time, definitely we’ll come here again! Once again, thank so much everything. Hope to see you someday!
Everything is just great! Really nice and extreme friendly family!
The Subwaystation is near to the homestay (2 - 3 min walk), and it takes you only 35 min to arrive to the Times Square!
I would give 2 or 3 hearts mora if I could ;)
friendly family. Judith is very helpful. The house is very close to the subway in a nice neighborhood.
Everything was great, lovely people ❤️
