I live in a quiet cul de sac within a nice quiet village 20 minutes on the bus from York. Monks Cross shopping park and Vanguard shopping center are close by as is the park and ride bus service. I have a large kitchen looking onto the garden . A conservatory tv lounge, 3 double bedrooms and 1 single room. Parking is on street. There is a lovely pub in the village which also offers home cooked food. The bus service is very good every 15 minutes.
York is a small historic city with lots of museums restuarants and coffee shops. It also has a big student population .
I like reading , movies and gardening. I also like shopping.
I do not host any one under the age of 18 unless with a parent or guardian

Maureen could not have been more welcoming, friendly or generous.
It was home from home in every way. I can recommend without reservation!July 2023
My stay was awesome Maureen couldn't have helped me better I had to go to hospital as I had one too many in town and she drove me there as a wait for an ambulance was four hours away she went above and beyond the call of duty I will be staying over again even though out of three nights I only stayed there one night lol there are amenities close by so you can get food the bed was so comfy and there is tea and coffee on tap if wished

I stayed at Maureen's house for a month and it was a great experience. The house is very clean and has all the daily necessities. Maureen is also very kind and friendly. Thank you!

My partner and I have a lot of experience travelling and have stayed with many different people from all over the world. None of these places was as uncomfortable as our month-long stay with Maureen.
In the first couple of weeks, she did not speak to us unless it was to tell us off in a rude and demeaning way for not following her rules: for example, for washing up the ‘wrong’ things, for hanging our clothes outside, getting up before 9am, or for putting kitchen equipment back in the wrong places.
Maureen is incredibly difficult to live with and does nothing to accommodate her guests. We felt forced to stay away from the house as much as possible, both to avoid setting her off and to avoid the cold (Maureen did not turn on the heating unless she herself was at home).
The room was fine, but we wouldn’t recommend staying here for any length of time.

This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.

I stayed with Maureen for a month prior to moving into my uni accommodation. She was absolutely lovely, helpful and a pleasure to stay with. Would absolutely recommend.

Maureen was a really good host. We felt welcome in her home, able to make drinks whenever we wanted and breakfast. Maureen is a very sociable lady who has a lovely house. Our room was large with en suite and a very comfortable bed. The bed had an electric blanket, which we didn't need as the house was toast warm. we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

I felt like if I was in my own house, great experience!
