The property is a unique Italianate Gothic town house dating from 1860 - Unique because we are fortunate to have the whole house (4 floors). Stylish as have spent the past 5 years sympathetically restoring it to a comfortable and elegant home.

About the Area
the property is on the corner of Maple Road with excellent restaurants, bars and a microbrewery. We have a park just a minute away. The high street for shops are a couple of minutes away. There are 11 bus routes nearly including to Kingston for the sights and university. The station is 4 minutes walk for a fast train (20 mins) to Waterloo.

House Rules
We try to reserve a private bathroom for guests if possible as we have 3 bathrooms and a cloakroom as expected for a house of this quality. If not the facilities are checked regularly and kept safe. You will be expected to show evidence of a lateral flow test plus a copy of photo id before arrival.
A kitchen and kitchenette is available to all guests to prepare light meals. It is a guest preference that the kitchen is not blocked by the preparation of elaborate meals especially those with strong smells or frying.
Payment Method: Please note that we require our guests to pay 50% of the booking total to us in advance of the booking to hold your room (on top of the 15% service fee paid to Homestay.com)
Cancellation Policy: We ask our guests to give us at least 10 days’ notice for any cancellation. Any cancellation later than this will not be refunded.”

The room was large. All standard furniture were available. The bed was wide and comfortable
The bathroom upstairs was more convienent as the one on the lower floor.
The check-in and check-out were easy and Lesley was very helpful.July 2023

It was a horrible experience due to many reasons. First, in detail it was written that I can use kitchen but as soon as I came in she told me I can only use microwave to heat prepared meals which shows that she is not honest.
Second, she did renovation on stairs on weekend at 8 o'clock in the morning with a huge amount of noise when I was asleep and she told me that I have to use garden gate for 3 days until the painting on steps will be dried and Monday morning when I wanted to go out for my work I could not open the garden gate because it was locked from outside so I called her and she reacted really bad and told me "why are you calling me at 7 a.m. and I was asleep" which shows that she does not have any responsibility regarding her guests and that day I arrived late at my work which was really bad for me.
Third, I was sharing toilet with another person in a room next to me who did not flush toilet couple of times and when I told her she told me here is not a hotel and many people do not flush toilets in airbnb but I am doing my best and I cleaned the toilet!!!
Forth, I asked her to turn on radiator in my room because My room was so cold at nights and she told me I should pay extra for heater while in my present accommodation I can turn on the radiator without extra cost and even for washing machine she told me in which option (only echo)I should wash my clothes and give her £4 for each time!! Which is again free in my present accommodation.
Totally, it was such a horrible experience which I do not recommend this place to anyone else.Host reply

The location is good. 5 minutes walking from Surbiton Station. There are bar and supermarkets. Lesley was nice. The house is nice and clean.

At first, as I never lived in home stay before, there is some unhappiness occurred between the host n I, but after we,ve reconciled with each other, I thought we could get along in good term with each other

The location is amazing with great transport links and amazing food places! I even found a gym within a stone row away from the house that I could use while staying briefly! Lesley was always on hand to help when issues arose such as the water being cold. She does offer value for money. The house is grand with beautiful pieces of art.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
