I live at home with my husband Phil and youngest son, Luis. My elder two children are in their first year of university but will be home for holidays. My husband is a firefighter and I am a freelance publisher and journalist, and I also volunteer for a children's charity in Bristol one day a week. I love running and pilates, and my husband is a keen cricketer. We are located in the countryside just 4 miles from the centre of Bristol. We have good access to the city centre via either the park and ride, which is a mile away, or the local bus which is about 200 metres away. The airport is a 15 minute drive away, and we are also about 15 minutes to Bristol Temple Meads (though longer in rush hour). Our house is located in a quiet part of the village, and there is room for a medium size car on our driveway. The room available is upstairs and is light, bright and airy with lovely views. Our home is simply decorated, and we are updating some of the rooms. As such, the lounge currently isn't available to guests. However, we have a large dining room with sofa and TV that guests are free to use with us. Guests can help themselves to coffee and tea throughout their stay and a light breakfast is included. A cooked evening meal may be available upon request for a small charge. We look forward to welcoming our guests and meeting new people.

About the Area

Our house is located in a quiet, safe suburb, approximately 4 miles from the city centre, and just within North Somerset. We are a 15 minute taxi ride away from the airport (approximately £20) and 4 miles to the train station (approximate taxi fare £11-£17 if rebooked; £20 if you pick up at the station). Ashton Court, home to the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, is less than a mile away from our home. It's a 5-mile round walk through Ashton Court up to Clifton, via the Suspension Bridge.

How do I book?

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
