I am an Irish artist and have lived in Glasgow for some time now. I love to travel , meet people and hear about their lives and travel experiences.
My flat is in the south side of Glasgow and is a 10 minute train ride from Glasgow City Centre. The area offers regular buses (20mins journey) and Nextbike facilities also. My home is a traditional Glasgow victorian spacious tenement flat. It is one floor up so has stairs from the entrance. The flat has an eccletic mix of decor and modern and vintage furniture.
It is a quiet neighbourhood with good local amenities closeby. Queens park is a 5 minute walk away . Hampden ground is less than ten minutes walk.
.
The room is bright and at the front of the apartment. It has a small double bed, desk and armchair. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and make use of the washing machine etc. I try and be as eco as possible using natural cleaning products and saving energy.

Deirdre is a fantastic host. She is very friendly, helpful and generous. Her flat is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood close to grocery, coffee, pubs, restaurants and lots of parks. If you need to get to city center or other parts of Glasgow bus and train are close by. The flat itself is basic and quaint and was a fine home for my long stay in Glasgow.

Deirdre is amazing. She is a fantastic Host, you feel comfortable, relaxed and welcome from the second you step into her wonderful home. Its as if you have known her as a friend for many years. Such a wonderful lady. My daughter & I had a wonderful time here. Deirdre also made a huge fuss of us by little special gestures, knowing we were there for the Pink Concert she layed on Champagne Pink truffles as a special treat for us Pink fans. She also paid a special interest in our Pink experience & getting to know all about us, which was a nice thing to do, nothing was too much. If I could give 10 star rating I would do so but 5 is the highest allowed. Thank you so much Deirdre, we met a wonderful freind on this homestay xx.

I have no words to describe the experience I've had at Deirdre's: the house was lovely, just a few minutes away by walk from Queen's Park, in Southside Glasgow, and 15 minutes by bus from downtown. Everything was comfortable and then Deirdre was a great host, always ready to give a helping hand when needed. Since the very first day I felt like a Glaswegian and it seemed like I had been living there a very long time. Everyone was kind to me, the neighbours, Deirdre's friends, well... what else can I say, it's been more than a vacation, it's been a life experience.

This is my first review about staying with families. I feel I have to do it. I had great moments at Deirdre house she is great, sociable and generous lady. Not only this what thing I was really happy at that time is about her neighbours they were welcoming me and they were talking with me when we meet! I felt that I’m really at home. I stayed in the UK with four families, but my favorite one is staying with Deirdre.
The room was comfortable for me and my wife we really loved it. I found it convenient to stay there because the bus stop takes around one minute to it and each 10 minutes new bus so we can go directly to the city center which takes about 20 minutes. We would like to say thank you so very much for letting us to feel that We were at home. And thanks as well for your neighbours.
