We live in a pretty english village, but very close to Bristol (only 2.5 miles to Bristol City Centre) so we are lucky to have lovely countryside as well as being close to everything. Bristol is a beautiful city with lots to see, and close to Bath and London for day trips.
We have a regular bus route to Bristol as well as a cycle track at the back of our house, for those who don't have a car.
About 10-15 minutes drive from Bristol Airport, Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station and Bristol Bus station.
Our house has 5 bedrooms, two of which are available for homestay, although not always at the same time.
The first is a spacious and airy modern room downstairs that has a double bed, ideally suited for a single person (or couple for shorter stays). This room has plenty of storage, an arm-chair, a desk & your own fridge.
The second is a small room upstairs that I used variously as a study/ guest room. It has a single loft bed with a comfortable mattress, and another comfortable pull down bed which otherwise acts as an armchair. There is a desk and storage, and is ideal for someone on a budget, but who require a clean and comfortable room. I would accept 2 people in this room by request, but only for very short stays. Because we have daughters, we only accept females in the upstairs room. PLEASE ALSO NOTE: our Downstairs room is our priority room. We only tend to book out the Upstairs room for additional smaller stays when the Downstairs room is already booked out, and that is because its frequently in use as a study or with family/ friends staying over. Please accept our apologies if we do not accept your booking - its likely due to your exact stay needs clashing with wider goings on in our life.
We have parking for 2-3 cars outside, but you might have to use the road sometimes.
We are a friendly couple with 2 daughters (aged 19 and 15) and enjoy having visitors. We have a cute and friendly Border Terrier dog called Wilfie.
We do not provide breakfast, or meals, except by arrangement in advance. Guests have access to the kitchen/ sitting room, downstairs shower room (& upstairs bathroom if you are in the upstairs room), the utility/ laundry and a lovely big garden. We have another lounge, but Adam works from here, so its not really set up for guests.
We have had friends, family, lodgers and home-stay staying from Scotland, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Fiji, Czech Republic, Mexico, Brazil, India, China and Africa, and welcome you to experience family life in the UK. We have not been able to accommodate families yet, but might when we are less busy with work etc.
Liz is Scottish, and Adam is English, and both we and our children will help you improve your english through conversation.
We are pretty chilled out, with few rules. We are often around to chat and share a glass of wine, but are also a busy household so happy for you to come and go as you please. We don't really have a curfew time, as long as you are quiet coming into the house after 11pm. We try to be quiet in the morning, but with 4 of use and a dog trying to get out of the door by 8am, we can't promise silence.
Weekends are generally busy and sociable.
Any questions, get in touch.

About the Area

We live just 3 miles from Bristol City Centre, but in a pretty village called Long Ashton with good transport links to Bristol an other areas. We are 5 miles from Bristol Airport and 4 miles to Bristol Temple Meads Train station. The bus stop is only a few minutes from our house, and the cycle track is next to our house.
Long Ashton is a safe quiet and very pretty village. It has shops, a post office, hairdressers, pharmacy, doctors, dentist and most importantly, 3 village pubs!
There are beautiful walks in the village, and walk-able to Ashton Court Estate, venue of the annual International Balloon Fiesta in August. Then, the whole village and fields nearby becomes a holiday village during the festival. In addition to this festival in August, there are a number of other festivals in the summer, including the Bristol Harbourside Festival at the end of July.

Central Bristol, with it historic docks, its thriving cultural life, its fantastic shopping and its family friendly pastimes is 2 miles away and has something for everyone. The Roman city of Bath is 15 miles away, easily accessible by car, bus or train.

I spend three month in Adam and liz family.
And it was for me the best experience ever. I really felt like a member of the family.
Liz is a wonderful cooker and I enjoy the World Cup with Adam.
I want to thanks us for all they did to me. If you want to go in Bristol don’t hesitate to come in their house.

This lovely family and their lovable dog welcomed me as a new member. The house is very spacious (with a beautiful garden) and the bedroom is very comfortable. Quiet, bucolic Long Ashton offers respite from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, even though it's quite close by. If you want to relax during your stay in Bristol, this is the place.

Amazing homestay! Highly recommend! The whole family are so welcoming, so easy to talk to, friendly and super helpful. I stayed in the larger downstairs room which was very homely and had lots of room; there was even a mini fridge in my room which made the room even better and is great for longer stays. Wilfie is a friendly and loveable dog and coming from a home where I have never lived with a dog, it is lovely to be greeted by an excited dog and to join the family on walks where you can see the beauty of the Long Ashton countryside. I travelled by bus everyday and it is very ideal having a bus stop only 5 minutes walk from the house and to be able to get into Bristol centre in just 10 minutes. Liz and Adam are great hosts who are very knowledgeable about the area and what you can do in Bristol; we even had a few meals together occasionally which is lovely if you travelled by yourself. I was even fortunate enough to be there when they were fostering a rescue dog who was calm and friendly and luckily found a forever home which was lovely to see and shows how caring the family is with people and animals! Overall my stay was amazing and I would highly recommend this homestay if you are considering on staying in Bristol! :)

We had amazing time with Adam, Liz, Beth, Esther and Wilfy.
İt was one of our best time, that we will never forget! The house and also the rooms are very comfortable and the village (Long Ashton) is also very close to the City Centre.
We had a small fridge, which is very comfortable for short and long time stay. We also used the kitchen as we wanted.
Liz and Adam are really open minded and you can enjoy the short talks with them during cooking, drinking coffee or tea. :)
Most important: You're really welcoming by them, no matter where you come from!
We felt us like home, and we can only highly recommend this nicest Family!

    Thank you for everything!

I hope, we will see you again..

Adam and the family are very nice. In the beginning I though Adam is a very serious person so I didn’t talk to much to him. But actually he’s open-minded and very funny! Liz is super nice as well. She even took me out the last night to a cool pub to listen to concert and bought me drinks.

    I totally recommend this homestay!
    And thanks for everything:)
