I live in a quiet leafy area of south Birmingham close to Cadbury's World (the perfect experience for chocoholics), the Warwickshire (Edgbaston) County Cricket Club, the Priory and the Edgbaston Priory Tennis Club. Ideal location for visitors interested in history, the industrial revolution and more contemporary things like art, fashion, music and shopping. My home is on the 35 bus route so very easy access to Birmingham City Centre (20 minute journey before 07.00), Aston University, Brasshouse Language Colleges, Abbey College, etc.... Close to the 76 bus route for Birmingham University and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Edgbaston. Very close to the 11 bus route also (for Aston Villa Football Club and Aston Hall, Blakesley Hall, Sarehole Mill and Tolkien Trail).

I can host upto 4 guests in my home.

For guests staying for a week and longer - half-board (i.e. evening meal) can be provided for some of the stay, so please email with your plans and we can negotiate this further. Some meals can be complimentary (I will host) and other meals can be provided for aprox £5 per person per night - guests can eat with myself and other homestay guests. Kitchen facilities available so make an enquiry if self catering preferred.

I tutor Immersion English (EFL) and have Full-board Homestay students stay throughout the year from Europe and international countries.

A bus ride away:
The city centre attractions are just a short bus ride away including Birmingham's New Library (largest Library in Europe), Art & History Museum, Gas Street Basin Canals, Brindley Place, Mailbox and Cube, NIA concerts, Symphony Hall, Vintage Custard Factory and lots of exciting nightlife venues.

Birmingham City centre is great for shopping. We have Selfridges, John Lewis, Debenhams, House of Fraser and Harvey Nichols!! Plus all the brand shops, high street shops and the Bull Ring Shopping centre which is open most days until 8pm. In addition, we have a fabulous Christmas Market that's about 1 mile long starting around 15th November every year with outdoor ice-skating.

Closer still, by bus, there's Moseley Village - very popular nightlife area with plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants

A short walk from the house:
I live in a green city and you can easily see this by taking a short walk from my home to the local reservoir and then onto the canal. It's a 5 mile canal walk to the city centre - or a quicker bike ride! The local Kings Heath high street is a 15 minute walk and provides plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants, library, swimming pools, gyms, shops, churches and parks.

Good location for a day visit to Shakespeare's Stratford or London.

Homestay Accommodation:
Light, spacious and airy 3 bedroomed home with 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets in the house - so there's plenty of privacy. 2 lounges and outdoor seating in the garden also available for a comfortable relaxing stay. Parking is available. Host works from home most days.

I really enjoyed my time with Paula and i can highly recommend a stay with her. She is a kind person who knows a lot about Birmingham and the sourroundings. I came to her to find a flat near to the city center. Just a minute walk away from her house is a bus stop which leads direct into the city center within 25 minutes. All in all it was the perfect location for my purposes :)

When we booked a room with Ms. Paula, it was the first time we have used Homestay and Paula had been the most helpful in showing us how to use Homestay’s booking system. Paula has been very professional with us and she consistently made sure to keep in constant contact with us in case we have any questions about her home and monthly schedule. We also find her a very friendly person and a great candidate for a host for one of our students (and our student had no complaints about her at all when he stayed at her home). Working with her was a pleasure and we would definitely recommend her as a host.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
