My house has 20ft x 20ft floor area, two-storey semi-concrete with basic amenities like internet, tv, gas (lpg) stove, water and electric services. It has also a dirty kitchen. It is located in a resettlement area for the informal sector.
I live alone but seldom stay at home since I'm almost in the field as a social development worker for poverty stricken areas. However, if I have guests, I would stay to serve them.
Basically, my house is good for the backpackers and social development workers of local and international NGO's whose priority is not total comfort but to know the culture of the poor people.

If you are looking for a real no frills stay at a very reasonable price, this is it because the real value of this stay is the hospitality that is extended. Jess has very basic amenities, a comfortable bed, and is what I consider to be an eco-friendly accommodation, something all homestays should be aspiring to. Thanks for the great stay Jess.

As a young couple travelling long term, we search out homestays, not only because they are usually budget friendly but because they offer a feel for local life and culture that we search for in the destinations we visit. It's an opportunity to interact and connect with people that may be lost while staying at hotels or other types of accommodation.
Jesus, a new friend, could not have been a better host. He welcomed us into his home, showed us around the city and helped us navigate the chaos of Sinulog festival. Our stay in Cebu City would've looked a lot different if we hadn't stayed with him. A truly authentic experience and a truly genuine person - we would recommend staying with Jesus to anyone travelling to this part of the world.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
