Salaam Aleykum and welcome to Jordan! I am Fatima, living with my daughter at the ground level of my house. As J am a single woman, I only host women, families and couples. My son and his family are living upstairs. As most people here in Um Sayhoun, we are from the Bduul Bedouin tribe, who used to live in the caves of Petra. We know the place better than anybody else and are looking forward to introduce you to our life! As locals, we can arrange for anything from desert trips to Bedouin meals (I love cooking and if you like, I can teach you). I have a guest room with 3beds and an en-suite bathroom with a great shower. It has a desperate entrance leading to a terrace where you can sit and relax. The other parts of the house (2 living rooms with tv, 1kitchen) are also open for guests: For me, it is most important that you really feel home and have a quiet, save place after a day full of adventure in Petra and the desert! For any questions, don't hesitate to call and ask.

About the Area

Our house is located close to the main road of the village in a quiet side road, with easy access to the snack restaurant, local supermarkets and the billiard place. When you come here, you can tell any driver to get you to the mosque of the Bedouin village, as there are no names for the houses. As the people here know me, you can just ask anybody to show you the house of "Um Haytham". Most houses of our neighborhood are family-owned and the whole village is inhabited by members of our tribe, building a wonderful community of mutual assistance. The main entrance of Petra is a 5minute drive by cab, visitors who already have a ticket could also use the back entrance coming directly from the village. The village has a great view inside Petra and is less touristic, making your stay more authentic without any disandavantages in the services available!

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
