Ingrid (Millina) was a wonderful host. She did everything she could to make my stay perfect. The home, a villa built in the 1700's, is amazing. The view is fantastic. Millina lives in a separate home near the villa. She is very knowledgeable about the area. The location is perfect home base for day trips by car to many small towns in the vicinity including Assisi and Foligno as well as to a place where olive oil is pressed if you visit in fall as I did. It is also a wonderful place to retreat and enjoy the quiet private surroundings. Historical Spoleto, itself, has very interesting Roman ruins in addition to medieval and baroque churches and other buildings. Millina can give you driving directions to wonderful restaurants in and around Spoleto and give you the history of the local places to visit. She knows the best places to buy homemade pasta or bread or vegetables if you want to cook in the villa in the well equipped kitchen. While most people think of Spoleto as a place to come for the early summer festival it is also great place to visit in Fall as I did or in Spring or Summer. I am so glad I chose her homestay site.
