Gary and Joe, where do I begin...
This was my first experience with Homestay, and my first experience with living abroad altogether, so needless to say that I had a lot of apprehension and fears about it. I wasn't sure about whether renting a room would be a good idea or not, because I was afraid of having to deal potentially problematic landlords. But Gary and Joe made my fears and apprehensions disappear overnight.
From the moment I arrived, they did everything they could to make me feel at home. They joyfully welcomed me, took the time to show me the premises as well as my room, they told me about the city, what bus to take to go where I needed, they even gave me map ! They answered all of my questions, took the time to chat, let me know about the house rules and told me to not hesitate to ask them if I needed to now anything.
The bedroom was comfortable, perfectly big enough to accommodate all my needs (and it had a great bed), the living room was very pleasant and being able to cook in a fully functional kitchen was very satisfying. On top of being comfortable, the house was always very clean and tidy, so even the two weeks I spent in isolation when I first arrived were pleasant.
I let them know early on that I was not really the most sociable guy and could go for several days without really talking to anyone and they told me not to worry and very much respected that ! Sometimes we wouldn't run each other for several days, some other we would spend an hour or two chatting, but they never insisted on talking or anything when I didn't feel like chatting. They were also patient and did not hesitate to repeat or speak slower when I was struggling to understand a sentence because I wasn't used to the accent yet.
All in al, this was a wonderful experience, and I was delighted I chose to stay with Joe
I want to give you 10 hearts, but I can only give you 5 hearts. Perfect house, perfect people. They are so warm and grateful. They always smiled and welcomed and responded warmly to everything. They are so kind and nice people. If I go back to Korea, I will always miss here so much. I strongly recommend this place.
Gary and Joe are extremely welcoming, very helpful and always up for the chat. The house is amazing and always kept spotless. I loved staying there and my time flew by. All in all the best accommodation you could hope for

Gary and Joe are the most lovely people to live with! Always there to help, to chat and for a laugh. Joe even showed me my route to my workplace by car, so that I could already familiarize the route. It was a pleasure to stay with them - unfortunately, it was only for six weeks. :(
Wish you all the best and take care, Gary and Joe!
I loved my stay at Joe and Gary's house! They are super friendly and we often had great laughs. For sure there was a very nice atmosphere in the house also with the other two guests. The house is very clean and in very good conditions. Very nice kitchen and large living room. Bus 40 stops nearby and connects directly to the city center. I would definitely recommend a stay with Joe and Gary! Alessio
Gary and Joe are incredibly amazing! Before my stay I was a bit nervous about my first stay with homestay in general. At that point, I didn´t know which great experience was waiting for me.
When I arrived they provided me with all information needed to find the bus stops, shops and whatever I wanted to know. As it has been mentioned before, the house is close to everything you need: shops, pharmacy, bus stop etc. It just takes approx. 20-30 minutes by bus to Dublin city centre, which is absolutely convenient.
My room was wonderful <3. I also loved the big kitchen because I like cooking and baking a lot :) The living room with the TV is perfect to relax whenever you need it. Especially, I liked the fact that I got to know different people becasue of changing house mates during my long-term stay. I could stay for myself or look for company, which was amazing.
I stayed 6 months with Gary and Joe, and it became like home. I enjoyed staying with them, and having great chats. :) Whenever I´ll be back in Dublin, I´d love to stay with them again.
Thank you for everything you did for me! I miss you, and having Billy around!
To whom that may consider a stay with Joe and Gary:
I always try to find a small nice property instead of big international chains in every trip I do and after staying in many hotels of this kind I am 100% sure that Joe and Gary was my best ever choice. Honestly!
The location is very close to amenities for your daily needs, pharmacy, mall, takeaway and many more. The property is in perfect condition with a back-garden and many chairs and a big table. In the living room you have plenty of space if you wanted to take the opportunity to have some sofa and TV-time.
Rooms are spotlessly clean and large enough to feel yourself comfortable even for a long stay!
Joe and Gary are very, very nice people with a very gentle character of hospitality, open for a chat but only if you want to, they would not press a conversation on you, exactly how I like it. Both are up for some banter, too. Very pleasant, and very helpful, too.
On top of all aforementioned, Joe and Gary don't hesitate to provide you with a good amount of supply of toast, tea, coffee, towels, and bed sheets. They go beyond the extra-mile to make us guests feel welcome, and in doing so I really, really enjoyed my stay. You have enough privacy as well, which I appreciate a lot. You can wash your clothes, you get free Wi-Fi . . . what do you want more?
I have no hesitation in recommending Joe and Gary to everyone. Thank you so much to the both of you! It's been my pleasure getting to know you and have staying at your lovely house.
Sadly, the third house-owner and special joy-bundle of the house, Billy, has passed away and will always be in my heart, too. He's been such a nice, pleasant fella with his funny characteristics. He even made friends with my two-years old son Skylar . . . best ever memories.
Staying with Gary and Joe was no doubt the highlight of my first few months in Ireland. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcome and at home. Gary and Joe are some of the warmest, kindest, most genuine people I have ever met and they would do anything to make sure their guests feel comfortable. Thank you so much for helping me get settled and for being such incredible hosts and more importantly friends.
