Staying with Eli and her Ehsan throughout my Shiraz trip was the best decision I took. Starting with my arrival into Iran, Eli was kind enough to fill me in with all the details and answer to all my questions. The room that I had in their apartment was very clean and tidy, and so was the bathroom that I was using. They were very happy to help me with any information and booking that I needed. They even called taxi for me when I wanted to go somewhere ( there is a Iranian version of Uber that you can use and I highly recommend it).

Location wise, the apartment was great. The food that Eli prepared for me was amazing as well.

It was my first time staying in such a home and I can definitely say that I felt like I was part of the family.

Eli and Ehsan were two lovely host.
We share a lot of time talking about everything. We recommend them to go visiting Chiraz. We felt like home in their place and they were really helpful for us. They can help you if you have any question or if you want to visit Chiraz, Persepolis....
The house was good and close to the center by taking the bus (5min).
We hope to see them soon.

We stayed 2 nights at Eli and Ehsan's place and it was really great. We were like a part of the family.

With Eli and Eshan we went to the mosque and they even drove us to Persepolis.
We had breakfast together and also dinner. They showed us their beautiful city by night and we went together eat faloodeh.

Their apartment is really nice and clean. We had a room with airco (and when it's 40° outside this is really a good thing).

Thank you again for everything, we are really blessed our trip started with you.

I am sure Eli and Ehsan were disappointed that I decided after viewing the apartment not to stay there. It was much farther away from the centre than they said in their listing and I am pretty sure it was not their home, since both bedrooms were rented out and the place was not furnished like a home . Perhaps they rent it out just as a moneymaking operation, but the reason I go to a website called "Homestay" is because I want to stay in someone's home with them. The major problem was that there was no wifi, which I need for my work. First they said it was broken and it would be fixed. Then they said we said in the listing that there was no wifi (actually, they didn't; when I checked, they don't say there is wifi, which is different and all other places have it). Then they said that I could tether to Ehsan's phone when he was there. So the story kept changing and it just didn't feel right. The flat is upstairs in a gloomy building and is not homely at all. They were angry that I cancelled because they said it would cost them money, but since I booked only 24 hours ahead, I don't accept that they would have suffered a loss. It was also quite expensive, more than the Niayesh Hotel which is owrfectly situated for a visitor and which I highly recommend.

Homestay Host Family Eli & Ehsan in ,

First of all we are upset that you had such an experience. But I have to mention some points.
First of all the distance is not a thing that we can set in the website. We just set the apartment location and the website itself calculate the distance. (1.2 km from center)
Moreover, our house is a typical modern Iranian home, with modern furniture that seems you didn’t like that and I'm sure no one hang their wedding picture in a non residential home. Iranians are famous for their hospitality, and it’s so common that some times when they have guests they sleep on a mattress in a living room. Me myself haven't any bed before I got married and moved to my new home. I feel pity for you cause you missed a real Iranian hosting experience. The other thing is the money that can be earnt by doing homestay is much less than the rental fees. I don’t know why do you think at this way.
About wifi. In the listing facilities there is no wifi, so you have to consider that and you can not blame us for that, but as we want to show our hospitality, try to fix internet till night, also using the Ehsan’s hotspot is another way to help you ...
Also you can read our ten previous review that we live in our home ...
I'm sorry if my house is gloomy for you and it's not match your standards and compare homestay with hotels.
At the end I think you should change your mind, if you're not ready to face unexpected things, never try any homestay. as you don’t like to make a relation with real family, you just need a hotel with facilities.
