Do hosts have to pay taxes?

Relevant tax obligations varies from country to country or indeed district to district. We encourage you to talk to your local authorities to ensure you are comfortable that you comply with applicable legislation for your jurisdiction.

How to charge taxes?

If your country requires tax collecting, you can do that in two ways: adding the amount directly on your rate or asking your guests to pay it in person during check-in.

Note that is important that you properly inform the guests on the exact tax values before the booking is completed. If you require additional fees to cover taxes in your area, we advise you to add the details to your listing.

In general, Homestay.com is unable to provide tax advice. To get tax advice we recommend that you consult a tax professional for more information about how to handle taxes in your jurisdiction.

If you are required to enter a registration by your jurisdiction, we have a place within your host account to add that.
