Casa agradable y acogedora casa de casa

Maurice est l'hôte parfait : il est accueillant, serviable, il donne des conseils (visite, bus...) et se propose de régler tous nos problèmes : trajet aéroport par exemple. Il s'adapte à toutes les situations : il a cuisiné tous nos petits-déjeuners version Breakfast Ecossais pour nous sur notre demande. Sa maison est tres confortable et très propre. Nous n'avons pas l'habitude de louer des chambres chez l habitant mais cela nous a donné envie de refaire cette expérience.

For some reason I received a very aggressive review, so here is mine for this homestay.

・He reviewed me for stealing the radio (?) in the room. I did not steal it. I even do not want it. It is terrible.
・Other housemates told that when I was out, he would sometimes go into my room. For a woman this is very scary. He keeps hearing noises, like how many times a day he uses the hairdryer. (I could use the hairdryer because the room was too cold.)
・He stays at home all the time and watches TV all day. Basically, he doesn't give me and housemate a key. So I have to be careful to go out. I also told him I work from home and travel, but he wrote a one-sided review, "She was supposed to be travelling but rarely went out." Where should I have been working? Actually I went out 4-5 days in week tho...
・I want to eat healthy, so I prepare a warm meal for every meal. So I chose a house where I can use the kitchen. I only cook simple food for 20-30 minutes each time, but every time I use the kitchen he mentions the cost of utilities, so there is a lot of pressure. 'Japanese people cook too much,' he says repeatedly. I didn't like it and skipped a few meals because of this pressure. But he still didn't feel good about it. It is not at all suitable for the average Japanese person, or someone who likes to cook.
・He also mentions the cost of utilities when I use the washing machine. I was a traveller and only had 4 sets of clothes. So I chose a house with a washing machine, but he was surprised because I don't wash his clothes once a month.
・In the house rules that he is not written "you are not allowed to shower at night". I think most Japanese people shower at night. Be careful.
・The room was about 8-9 degrees Celsius, sometimes 5, but the heating did not come on. Not recommended for people from warmer countries. I caught cold twice because of this cold.

If you are okay with the above, I would really recommend this homestay:) He was very nice.
I think He is basically very friendly to people from the same culture. Asian people who have recently come to the UK, have a very different culture and the same thing can happen to them as it did to me.

I was very surprised to suddenly receive an aggressive review when I had no intention of writing a review here. Sorry for everything if you upset to my behavior. It was first time to get review I was not clean in my traveling life. Thank you for very nice experience. Cheers!

My stay with Maurice in his house has been a really pleasant experience. I stayed for a total of 4 nights, and spent a lot of time studying, in which his house has a perfect atmosphere as it is very quiet and calm. Maurice is a good host and he has a lot of interesting stories to tell about the UK and Edinburgh. Finally, I think that it is a very good price that you pay to stay in a room that is in the quality that Maurice offers. Would definitely recommend a stay with Maurice in his homestay!

I have spent a great time at Maurice's house for sure.
I have lived a very good Scottish experience thanks to him.
Maurice is a great man, he is a "Chef".
I really enjoyed his company and also his family, his neighbors and all the people I met during these six weeks.
I would never have thought of living an experience like this and having a host as good as Maurice.
Everything was perfect, the accommodation was pleasant, welcoming, warmy exactly like its host.
I strongly recommend all travelers to come meet Maurice.
It will be difficult for you to go home after this experience, trust me !

I will not forget you, and we will see eachother as soon as possible !

J'ai passé un excellent séjour chez Maurice.
J'ai réellement vécu une très bonne expérience à l'écossaise.
Maurice est un homme formidable, c'est un excellent cuisinier.
J'ai réellement apprécié sa compagnie ainsi que celle de ses proches, de ses voisins et de l'ensemble des personnes que j'ai rencontré durant ces six semaines.
Je n'aurai jamais pensé vivre une expérience comme celle-ci et tomber sur un hôte tel que Maurice.
Tout était parfait, le logement agréable, accueillant, chaleureux à l'image de son hôte.
Je conseille fortement à l'ensemble des voyageurs de venir rencontrer Maurice.
Croyez moi, il vous sera difficile de rentrer chez vous après cette rencontre.
