Yelenis was an amazing host. She even phoned the restaurant ahead to surprise us with a birthday cake!

Yelenis (pronounced Yeleni) is very friendly and the room is clean, alltough the wall needs painting! Whe liked the breakfast with guave and pancake. It's in a sidestreet with no light at night (it gets dark at 18.30h in january) so you need a flashlight, otherwise you 'll step in horseshit at night! Offcourse the view from the rooftop terrace is the main attraction here.

Buenas instalaciones y excelente trato

July 2017
Nice stay - little bumpy road :-) But nice people and nice place.

The view is just as it is in the photo!
We had a really relaxing time at Yelenis' Casa. It's elevated and beautiful, and away enough from the main tourist drag that you feel the Vinales valley is your own.
Yelenis helped us book a great horse riding tour and we were pleased to see the horses well fed and looked after.June 2017
A great and lovely host who helped us with literally everything. She cooked a great dinner for us and booked a beautifull trip on a horse through the hills of Vinales (incl. tobacco, rum, coffee and honey farm). The 'Casa' is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Vinales. The place to stay is very neat.

Yelenis was extremely kind and helpful to me and my friend, she made our stay comfortable and nice. The description of her room is accurate. Vinales and staying at her place was one of our best experience in Cuba.

We had a fantastic stay with Yelenis and her family, she could not have been more accommodating or helpful! Beautiful view from the roof terrace and an excellent breakfast!

If you have ever experienced being in a small car crash, this experience would bring those haunting memories back. Unexpected, unpleasant, and with some whiplash.
The fiasco started soon upon our arrival when Yelenis, who despite having confirmed our booking 2 days before arrival, looked at us with a blank expression as if she had lost her keys (think Kiera Knightly's appalling acting in every movie she has ever been in). Upon being reminded of our email comms (and spending mobile data to access the email as proof) she proceeded to get into our car and take us around the village looking for anybody and their mother (quite literally) who would be willing to host us. As a result, we ended up in a hole we never imagined we would stay in, and left promptly after one night.
To top it all, despite having paid a deposit through homestay, the accommodation she "arranged" for us charged us the full amount, not the balance.
All in all: Avoid. Like. The. Plague.Host reply
How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
