The hostel "El Ceramista" is a beautiful colonial house built in the 1940s. The house is located close to the square Carrillo in the same street as the Trinidad Cigar Factory. In a distance of just 600 meters you can find the historical center with all the main tourist points of interest. Upon your arrival you will be served a delicious cold fruit juicefor free. The hostel’s neighborhood is very pleasant, central and very safe. In the house there are three air conditioned rooms with big windows and private bathroom whole the rooms are located on the second floor.
In the house lives a family of 5 people: 4 adults and a boy. Your hosts Alexey and Family will offer you a service of maximum quality with entertainment, good food and lots of pleasure. Their son Alexey runs a traditional pottery in the house. By keeping alive one of the most ingrained Trinidarian traditions he creates beautiful masterpieces of ceramic art. Of course, you are invited to discover his creations and, if you want, he will happy to give you a free pottery lesson.
If you inform the family aboutyour hour of arrival you will be expected atyour personal arrival point (e.g. the Viazul bus station).

Alexey was a fantastic host, so friendly and helpful! Alexey's Casa is in a great location just a short walk from the centre of Trinidad and the room we stayed in was exceptionally clean with everything we needed.

We found A left through an article on Lonely Planet. If we were able to we would have loved to have stayed longer. We were greeted at the front door by his wife's beautiful smile after which she made us feel completely at home. Alexy arrived later in the day and was really lovely to chat with. Alexy's father was up early to make us tea nad coffee before we rushed off for our tour. Would recommend them to anyone and only wish we could have stayed longer!

I can honestly say that my husband and I LOOOOOOVED! our stay with Alexey and his family. They really treated us as if we were part of the family. The room, the food, the rooftop, everything! was just amazing! We had the opportunity to have great conversations with the whole family. Alexey's dad is a sweetheart. Every time we would go back to the house to rest, he'll make sure to come out and say hi! The whole family ws just great. I have nothing else but good things to say about them. We will definitely be back and stay with you guys! Los vemos pronto!

Alexey est une personne formidable et ainsi que sa famille. la chambre est très propre et bien décorée. la maison n'est loin du centre de Trinidad. Alexey est toujours au service de ses invités. ce qui etait plus dans cette maison vous avez la connexion d'internet gratuite!! eh oui pour Cuba c'est une exception:) .. je vous conseille fortement de séjourner chez Alexey! je remercie encore à lui et à toute sa famille pour cette rencontre unique!

We had a wonderful stay with Alexey and his family! They made us feel so welcome and shared lots of useful advice on things to do in Trinidad and onwards travel. The casa is really beautiful with a large terrace where you can sit outside to read or enjoy a lazy breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights in a really lovely bedroom with a big private bathroom. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and very comfortable. Alexey and his family are really friendly and helpful - this was my favourite casa in Cuba!

Your principal host is Alexey, a big hearted man who communicates patiently with a decent amount of English. You will also meet his charming family. We stayed in a range of casas and hotels in Cuba and this casa was best overall. In particular, cleanest and largest room, most comfortable bed, best guest information, most extensive guest services, best air conditioning, best stocked mini-bar, best security arrangements, best terrance/outdoor spaces, nicest breakfast and best dinner. It is also the only accommodation we stayed that had a hair dryer, it is 5-10 minutes walk from central old Trinidad and also does pottery classes for guests.

Would not recommend, told less than a day before arriving we had to move to another Hostal because he overbooked. He increased the agreed price the day we left. Would not book with him again.

We hade a very pleasant stay at Alexeys casa. The room was very clean and Alexey and his wife are very welcoming ! The casa is near the center of Trinidad and the diner at their casa was veru delicous. It was our best experience in CUBA !

My stay with Alexey and his family was incredible - they were very friendly, extremely welcoming and fantastic hosts. They treated me as part of their family - Alexey, gave me a pottery lesson on his birthday and his father even invited me to his birthday dinner, where I met his friends and other family members, who taught me so much about Cuba and life there.
The house is beautiful and well located, the room was very comfortable and had all the amenities you would need (from air-conditioning to fridges). I am extremely grateful and lucky that I picked their casa and I would highly recommend that you try and get a space there (I promise you will not be let down).

Fantastic Casa, Family, food and atmosphere. Very helpful Owners and amazing place. If you are there ask for extra breakfast and eat there dinner. The Family will try to help as much as they can and they care you have the best time. I was really great experience. If I get back to Trinidad, I will definitely stay there and recommend it to anyone.
How do I book?
Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
