Our house is located in a place that is quick and comfortable to travel anywhere walking or in the daring pedicabs that are liked by tourists as their entrepreneurs make the transfer of the pleasant tourist or renting bicycles in particular places like Velo Cuba, also from our house is very easy to reach other nearby municipalities such as Vedado, Centro Habana. We are sure that the best choice is to choose us.

About the Area
Our house is located in the Plaza Vieja, in the so-called golden kilometer of Old Havana, by the Historian's Office, charming, central, very safe, with a magic that enchants everyone who visits us. a few steps from interesting and beautiful places that are of great enjoyment for all visitors, we have near the Cruise Terminal, which is located on the Havanan boardwalk. A few steps away we find ourselves in the famous Cathedral Square, with its beautiful and emblematic church, where our Pope visited. Close to this, there is the Plaza de Armas, with its park and its famous Ceiba.
In the vicinity of our house in the Plaza Vieja, there is a wide network of bars and restaurants that are very popular with customers, in addition to being a cheerful and attractive square, we have in the same square Restaurant La Vitrola , famous place that in so short time of created has been visited by famous like the singer Madonna. In the ground floor the Restaurant New Plaza. On our left the Restaurant Azúcar. Facing our house, we find the Bohemian cafe, near the Don Julio, all specialized in international and Creole food, in the surroundings we find La Taberna specialized in international food. If you want to taste a Rich Ice Cream have the Mango ice cream parlor. Here in our neighborhood in the Plaza Vieja, private entrepreneurs make our Plaza an exquisite place to have a good time and enjoy Creole and international food. But also in Old Havana itself you will find other private restaurants of your liking such as El Chanchullero, La taberna del Pescador specialized in seafood and fish, DNext, Restaurant Sarrà, ArtPub, among many others that have made Old Havana a special place and a faithful exponent of the work of the enterprising Cubans. Also private art galleries. As well as we have in our environment an International Financial Bank and a House of Change (CADECA). Next to our Plaza we have the Plaza San Francisco or Plaza de las Palomas with its famous sculptures such as the legendary Caballero de Paris Cuban figure.
In the same bay of Havana, in the Alameda de Paula located a few steps from the house is the San José terminal where Cuban craftsmen sell beautiful souvenirs (Souvenir) of Cuba for the enjoyment of tourists.

Marlene y Rafael nos daron la bienvenida con mucho cariño. La habitación y el baño estaban muy limpios y bonitos. La casa se encuentra en el corazón de Habana vieja que es perfecto para caminar a los sitios del interés. Marlene y Rafael nos ayudaron a organizar nuestro viaje y nos recomendaron restaurantes y excursiones en Habana. Gracias por todo, nos ha gustado muchísimo.

We are so glad to have met Marlen, Rafael their lovely son Kevin. We stayed at their beautiful casa for two nights before and two nights after our cycling holiday. The casa is superbly located and gives a very nice feeling of well-being. It is centrally located with easy walking access to a number of great restaurants, the other plazas, the waterfront, the bustling Obispo, the Cadeca (currency exchange), museums and art galleries. There is a primary school located on the square and it was lovely to see the kids in their uniforms having their PE (Physical Education) lessons in the square early mornings. So many of them and so happy and enthusiastic and so full of life. That, we are sure is where our own feeling of happiness and well-being in this place came from. That and observing Cubans going about their lives whilst enjoying our super breakfasts. We can't recommend Marlen and her lovely casa and her lovely family enough.

We had a really wonderful time staying with Marlene, her husband Rafael, and their son Kevin. They are warm great people who felt like our best friends by the time we left. The accommodations were completely first class. Our room was clean, comfortable, and we had a lovely view of the Plaza Vieja below from our balcony. It was so nice to just sit out on the balcony watching all the people and events in the Plaza while listening to salsa music throughout the day. In the morning, Marlene cooked us a tremendous breakfast that included everything from a big plate of fresh fruit to coffee to eggs and toast and even a delicious smoothie! Marlene and Rafael were willing to guide us or help us at any given moment as we explored La Habana. When we visit La Habana again we would love to stay with them. Edna, Glenn, and Amber Fisher

Alles super nett und sauber. Tolle Lage. Der beste Start, den man auf Kaba haben kann. Marlene und ihr Mann sprechen gut Englisch und helfen gerne wo sie nur können. Wir sind begeistert!

We stayed for four nights at the casa of Marlene and Rafael. They are lovely people: very reliable , friendly and helpful. Marlene also speaks English. The room was spottlesly clean and everything just as promised (which was not the case with some other places we stayed at in Cuba). Good beds and good sleeping quality. The location by Plaza Vieja, in the heart of the historic center, is absolutely fantastic. You can enjoy the fresh breakfast, prepared by the host family, on your own French balcony with a splendid view over the whole square. You can watch school children play at the plaza in the mornings, and listen to bands playing Cuban rhythms at the restaurants and cafes in the evenings. We can warmly recommend this casa, and want to thank once more our great host family for everything.
