About the Homestay
VERY CLEAN HOME, VERY WELL SITUATED IN A SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD, This is a beautiful upper floor colonial style home managed by my sister, my mother and I. Marvy and Alberto answer and approve all the internet requests since they speak the best English. The home is in a very SAFE area day or night!!! It is centrally located and it is very CLEAN. It has 2 air conditioned bedrooms and 2 private baths with door locks. The main bath in the hall is the one most guests like to use. However, if that bathroom is occupied, then you are free to use the other second full bathroom located next to the kitchen... Both are private and with locks on the doors. (Bedroom 1 has a Queen side bed that sleeps 2. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds and a 3rd single bed can be brought in to accommodate up to 3 people. The home is located in Central Havana, and it is within 20 minutes walking distance to most places of interest and tourist attractions. The famous Malecon sea wall/walk is only 5 blocks from our home.

In this home you will have complete privacy and security. We live in the back of the house and are available 24/7 to make your stay trouble free and pleasant. A full breakfast (5.00cuc per person) may be served upon request.
Guest could have access to the refrigerators in the house to store water, etc. . Transportation to and from the airport average total price is 25.00cuc. (More than 3 riders with many bags may cost a bit more). There are plenty of Taxis and private drivers that can bring you home outside of the Terminal building. They are all safe!!! The airport is 15 km or 9 miles from the house. The ride from the airport to the house can take anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. We can help with information about tour guides, places of interests, and many other local attractions. (Keep in mind however, that we are not a travel agency and information given is only to help supplement what ever info you may already have and to make your stay a more enjoyable and pleasant stay). We are a family that will welcome you with open arms..
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND>>>As you can see in the pictures, the space is large enough, clean, SAFE and in my view beautiful....however, please remember that Cuba is not a luxury destination! Many things are still quite basic. Water pressure is not what it is in America or some places in Europe, but it is sufficient. We have a big reservoir tank on the roof and even on those rare occasions when there are water cuts by the city, it should not impact our guests.
Thanks for looking and Welcome to La Habana. Welcome to our home.

Sweet, helpful and friendly host who was very accomodating and lovely to talk to. Beautiful house and lovely room with a fan. Near enough to walk to Capitolio (around 20 minutes) and host was very helpful with travel and booked us a Taxi Collectivo to Trinidad! Delicious breakfast and interesting, exciting area to stay in. I reccomend this homestay!
Marvy was so welcoming to her home and made me feel so welcome. She showed me local restaurants and organized a taxi for a tour. For a little extra I was able to have a delicious breakfast. It was a pleasure to stay in her home.
Here are the brothers, who lost your keys at the nick of the time before the departure :).
At that moment it was very stressful for us, but you were right, soon it turned to be a little funny, because we came at the airport and at this very moment the keys dropped out on the floor from the pocket of my brothers small bag, where he had handkerchief!
You know - he was looking everywhere - but in handkerchief pocket no!
So, you can be calm, the keys are ok, but now with living with him here, in Czech Republic and waiting for our next trip to Cuba!
Moreover, I dare to say many thanks for your hospitality and kindess!
And of course, wishing you and your mother good luck in Magical New Year.
Hope to see you in your Casa again - with keys!
Joseph & Jiri from Prague, Czech Republic

A Canadian Saved in Cuba
I came to Havana with just a couple of nights booked, and went from there. Marvelys helped me with further bookings and transportation. I liked their home, their food, the location and I felt welcome. My last reservation was ignored however, but they arranged for me to be hosted by the neighboors which worked out fine.
They were realy nice and helpful. The room was perfect. Also the breakfast was delicious.
Nothing bad to say. Me and my boyfriend just returned back home and we have nothing to complain about. Marvelys helped us with everything, gave us tips for trips, whatever problem we had she solved it out... Marvy's mother is also very friendly and willing to help (speaks only Spanish). We also had breakfast there, it was delicious. Fruit, eggs, buns with ham and cheese, fresh fruit juice, coffee.. Our room was very nice and had an air-conditioning - without it we wouldn't have survived that unbelievably hot weather. The house is generally very clean. On the balcony of the house you see a typical Havana's streets, the center is appx 15min walk, near to the house is a lot of restaurants, however we picked 2 the best and ate there every day. Very low prices (usually 1 meal is for 3-5cuc), very big and tasty portions of food. In Havana you eat really a lot in restaurants, get ready for that... The only thing that bothered us a little was that the beach wasn't available by walk, directly in Havana there's no beach where you can go swimming, but soon we found out that everyday there's a bus every 40min from center de la Habana to the beautiful beach Santa María, only for 5cuc for 1 person. The ticket is valid for the way back too so you don't pay anything more.
We're very satisfied with our choice of accomodation. : - )
Great place to stay in Havana Marvely speaks great English and was very helpful. Wish we found this casa sooner as it was our last night in Cuba. Great breakfast also
Marvy was an amazing host! She made our stay one of the most memorable trips we've had! She was very helpful and accommodating, she spoke great English helping us to learn and understand some Spanish words and introduced us to other locals making our experience of Cuba absolutely fantastic! Her breakfasts were lovely and house clean and cute! Thankyou so much! We will forever remember our trip to Cuba :) xx
