I would just like to say Susana and Ariel had made my stay in Cuba and all stays in Cuba most welcome and enjoyable. They are awesome people. The house is very comfortable and Ariel makes a great breakfast in the morning. The rooms are so clean and spotless. I have been staying with Susana each time I go to Cuba now for the past few years. I decline to stay with other people only Susana. I love these people. They are very kind and trustworthy also. Never had a problem. The location is perfect close to restaurant El Bickeys and a short walk to the Hotel Nacional or Habana Libre. Susana and Ariel are very friendly and make every attempt to make your stay the best. Thank you Susana and Ariel for all your hospitality. I miss you very much! Hopefully I plan to see you again in April 2022 if all goes well.

Although we only stayed one night here (the day before we would leave for the Netherlands) we received a very hospitable welcome. We felt right at home and a good location to stay. They don't speak English, but despite that, they help you with everything and arrange everything for you. Everyone is equally friendly and welcoming. When you stay in Havana, I definitely recommend your casa Susanna!

Our stay in Susana and Ariel's house was delightful. They were extremely kind and friendly towards us and consistently informed us about anything Cuba related. The breakfast they provide is also substantial!

Susana and Ariel were the perfect hosts. Always caring and eager to help by showing what to do, giving you a hand anytime you need it (such as contacting people, going somewhere or finding a place to eat). The breakfast is huge and they live in this small authentic quarter of La Havana. They're the sweetest Cuban family you could expect! I really recommend staying at their house.

For studying reasons i was in Havana for 4 weeks. Initially I booked two days here, in the end I stayed the entire month. Never had any accomodation with such warm and welcoming hosts as Susanna and Ariel. Great (huge) breakfast, very clean rooms with airconditioning. And for all the contacts and advice i needed, there were always immediately ready to help. Highly recommended!

This was a good homestay for the price. Susana and Ariel were friendly and kind people who made our stay in Havana lovely. Breakfast in the morning was basic but freshly prepared and was a mixture of fresh fruit, eggs, bread and fresh fruit juice. I booked a 4 person room for 2 people which meant it was spacious however the bathroom was a little on the small side. The room/bathroom were immaculate and very clean and the sheets and towels were changed everyday which was amazing. Susana also organised a taxi for us from the airport (costing CUC $25) and both of them got up at 5am to make us breakfast and drive us to the Viazul on our last day which was extremely kind of them!
A couple of things to note if you are thinking of staying here.
1. Susana and Ariel do not speak very much English. This is not a problem if you speak some Spanish but I don't think I realised just how little English they spoke until we arrived as all of our communications beforehand (in English) were word-perfect. So just a word to the wise if, like us, you are terrible at Spanish, that staying here may be slightly harder if you want their help to book excursions. We spent a good couple of hours trying to decipher a day trip to Vinales and even though we managed to book it a few things went awry because of mis-communication!
2. This property is located in Centro Habana. The main sites/bars/restaurants of Habana are located in Old Habana. To walk to the 'centre' it took a minimum of 25 minutes which we didn't mind doing however after 3 days of walking around a lot in 30 degree heat we found it a strain to have to constantly do the journey to and from the house (on the basis that we would explore in the morning, return in the afternoon for a few hours, and then return to Old Havana again in the evening). Taxis in Habana are not cheap - one from Old Habana to their house cost us CUC $10 - so we couldn't validate doing that on a daily basis because of our budget. As mentioned, the homestay is very good value for money, so the above points are not an issue as long as you are aware of them and come expecting it. To anyone that stays here, expect a traditional Cuban experience as Susana and Ariel are so passionate about their homestay and their country that it would be a shame if you missed them!
