Overall, Vilma is a kind host and her family is very welcoming. I had a good stay with them but there are some glaring issues that need to be resolved:
1. There are CCTV cameras in the kitchen and living room - I understand the need for security however there are multiple instances of the host listening in on conversations. This is frankly an invasion of privacy and is 100% unacceptable. Further, this should be mentioned on the website.
2. Vilma also operates a baby-day care. While she is great at taking care of babies, the homestay guests are told to not to show themselves to the babies' parents
3. After an issue with the host (which I will address below) the heating in my room was cut and the host was hostile to me. The heating was cut for an entire week and I had to sleep in multiple layers to stay warm (luckily it was september). I had paid upfront and I was too proud to leave. But in hindsight, I absolutely should have.
My mistake: I did make the mistake of entering the baby daycare room to practice yoga one morning and I take full responsibility for that. It was an honest mistake and the babies hadn't come in yet so luckily I did not surprise them. I apologized to the host multiple times and I truly feel bad about this, even today.
I would also like to thank the host's eldest daughter and husband from the bottom of my heart. They were always kind to me and I needed this, especially when my heating was cut. Their kindness is the reason I did not leave a review earlier. I tried my best to forget this episode in my life but Vilma reminded me. As I mentioned above, I think Vilma's intentions are generally good - however, some of these issues need to resolved because they are unacceptable

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
