About the Area

Our house is located atop a large hill along the south side of the Fraser River. Our street has a dead-end at the ravine on our block. It's a quiet neighborhood with a lot of trees.
The bus stop is a short walk of two minutes. From there, it's a 10 minute ride to the closest Skytrain station at Scott Road. There is small produce store a block away, and three blocks further is a strip mall with a nice selection of shops and food places. The nearest, larger grocrery store is on 128th Street. Our house is closer to 118th Street.

Meals

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

Included in the stay
  • Complimentary Light Breakfast
  • Use of Kitchen

House Rules

If an interested guest wants to stay with us, they must do more than simply ask if it's available: Requests with only one name, no picture, and no information about the person will be declined immediately.

The guest is expected to:
1. Help keep the shared bathroom clean, which she shares with my wife.
2. Do all her dishes, quickly. The kitchen is in use almost constantly, so keeping that clean and ready for everyone else is a MUST. It's a grand total of 3 people here, so it's not a big job; it just needs to be kept up with.
3. The guest has the job of cleaning her own room.
4. Please, remove shoes in the house, or have some inside sandals or something.
5. Smokers are not allowed at all. We have found the smell gets into the bedding, etc. Even if a person smokes outside, they can't stay here. You may only smoke if you are on fire. That's understandable.

Smoking Rules

Your host is a non-smoker.

Smoking is not allowed.

James and Roxy are probably the best host you could ask for. I only stayed at home for a week but I couldn't have found a better place. They will definitely go the extra miles for you. You'll learn a lot about Vancouver and its wild surroundings ;) I had a lot of trouble when I first arrived in Canada, and let's just say you can count on them to make things easier and smoother. The room was nice, it has 2 large windows and the private entrance is a plus if you like privacy. The house is a 2-minute walk from one of the many buses you can take to the city center. If you walk about 10 minutes you also have a gym, a few restaurants, a bank and other public services. You can ask them anything, whether it's a question or something you need help with. If you are looking for a safe, clean and welcoming place, you have found it!

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
