Looking for longer term stays of 3-6 months to 1 year but feel free to start with a week. Our condo corporation would like you to sign a one year lease to deter Airbnb type rentals. However we do not have any penalty if you decide to leave early. We’re a friendly retired professional couple with a friendly grey cat, Smoky, and three clean dry bedrooms, all with comfortable beds and a window. There's one large queen, one medium single, and one slightly smaller single, in a Bungalow Townhouse in Hunt Club area of Ottawa, 8 minutes drive from the airport, bus stops right here. This is our home and it will be your home while you are here. Please respect our other guests and property. We recycle and we make it easy for you to recycle. Netflix, wifi, air conditioning. Nice garden patio. Use of kitchen. Full bathroom shared with two other renters. I speak a little Spanish and French.
We are a family Homestay and appreciate your help keeping your room, bathroom and hallway, laundry room, fridge and kitchen areas clean.
Parking can be an issue. You can park on Uplands for free at night but there is a 3 hour limit during the day and in the winter if there is a snow storm you have to find a place to put your car. You can leave it in the Walmart parking lot at South Keys. You can also apply to the city for a parking permit. A bus stop is right in front of our complex.
We can’t take animals long term, we have a cat who owns the place. Pets for short term may work.

About the Area
Our townhouse is on a grassy right of way so it’s private, in the south end of Ottawa near Hunt Club and Uplands. There’s a small shopping centre within walking distance, and South Keys is a five minute drive away, where you can get the OTrain and busses. There’s a bus stop right on the road at our complex and if you are driving there’s easy access to downtown on the airpor parkway and Bronson Ave. There’s a beach on the river at Mooneys Bay and hospital and train station 15 minutes away.

Respect for the home, its values and norms is of utmost importance for both guests and family members. We do not discriminate against colour, gender, religious affiliation, and beliefs. Any disrespect shall lead to the party politely asked to leave. Please use headphones for any loud music you want to listen to. No guests, no parties, no drugs, no smoking, no vaping, no drunken behaviour. No cooking in the bedrooms due to safety regulations. Be tidy and clean and leave each room as you found it.
Resources such as electricity and gas are costly. We request our guests to be conscious of this and turn out lights when you leave a room.
Finally, we welcome you into our family and know that much can be learned, there’s fun to be had, and we want you to teach us about yourself too.

Sandy and i have a long stay agrement. If it was not the place to be i would not stay . Sandy is just great. The region offers a lot of possibility. Reel nice being here. And the cat is just great.

Sandy and John were very hospitable! They offered various fruits and delish healthy muffins for breakfast! I enjoyed my stay over their house, and I would definitely come back again :)

It is a home, a real home, not just a house. Sandy and John are so friendly, talkative and nice people. Super recommendable!!! The house is amazing, big, clean, beautiful, comfortable… I’ll miss them

I hit it off with Sandy and John as soon as I arrived at their home to meet them the first time. They were such “Good Samaritans” - offering me a comfortable chair, passing me a refreshing drink with ice as a friendly welcome and gave me a tour of the house. The bedroom I ended up staying in for Oct. 13 - 16 of 2023 was perfect for me and close to a bathroom with a clóset, a window I could open for fresh air and plenty of hangers, plus a comfortable bed and a dresser. They secured my expensive tricross bicycle indoors overnight for me, which I really appreciated, just for the one weekend, to help me out. I was made to feel at home, as one of the family. That really makes a difference when hosts make you feel safe, cared for and genuinely have your best interests at heart. This loving, couple even let me watch a movie with them ! I’ll never forget how wonderful that homestay visit was . Hats off to these amazing homestay hosts !!! I’d love to return again !

Sandy and her husband John are extraordinary hosts. Their home is welcoming and gorgeous, beautifully laid out and reminded me of the Buffalo Art Gallery. Guests are offered a generous breakfast of choices of coffee, delicious muffins baked by John almost every day with healthy ingredients or a granola bar and and fresh fruit. Also privileged to be picked up and dropped off at the airport. I wish there would be more wonderful people like this in the world. Smoky is a very affectionate and cuddly pussy cat after getting to know us. Thank you for all your kindness, Sandy and John.

Sandy and John are super nice, and their little cat Smoky is so cute. The neighbourhood is close to several bus routes stop and you can easily go grocery just by walking. Also, the surrounding is quite and a lot of parks near by. Last but not least, the hosts fed me food and took care of me, which made me really feel at home and comfortable. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Sandy and John's place for two nights and it was really great! We felt very welcomed and they helped us to get around and even showed us some places we wouldn't have seen on our own. Thank you so much for having us and for the delicious breakfast and dinner! We would definitely come and stay there again!

When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. When can I share my contact details?
